Why Did Jesus Have To Die

This is a question that many of us Christians simply take for granted; in fact it is nearly not thought about. Today most of the focus is on ourselves; are we living a Godly life, I’m giving to the poor, I’m taking care of my family, I’m living with integrity, I’m, I’m, I’m. This type of mentality is very destructive when you forget why you’re living in the first place. Let’s remove man from the equation and go pre-man age when God had the idea to create man. Going back this far will help you understand the question, why did Jesus have to die. The simple answer is that He had to die for man to live.

If you watch sci-fi movies a lot of times the humans are trying to preserve humanity from the aliens. The preservation of humans (aka man) is a theme I personally believe is a task that humans have to fight for but not in the ways documented in movies; but through God who created man. Outlined below are just two of the top reasons in why Jesus had to die.

The Payment of Sin is Death: once a man sinned; the payment for that sin was/is death. Because Jesus is so scarce in these modern days; and I mean that in people are not hearing directly from God as the prophets and apostles had the opportunity to do. If anyone is they are often times thought to be crazy; and a true servant of God can tell if the person is true or crazy because they will tell you of things that are already written.

However, the point is that people do not understand that when God speaks, whatever He said must happen. It says that in Isaiah chapter 55 verses 11. What does that have to do with Why Jesus had to die? Everything! Because God (Jesus and Jehovah) said that if the man sins the man must (Ezekiel 18 v20). Many people like to believe that Adam did not sin because there were no commandments at the time of his disobedience to God. That is a false statement because Satan was thrown out of heaven in the name of Jesus because sin was found in him. Well we have to find out what sin is; and according the Bible sin is the transgression of the law (1st John 3 v4).

Reading the Ten Commandments alone (excluding all the other commandments God has in His By-Laws) the first says ‘you shall have no other gods before me’, and another says you shall not take the name of your God in vain. Two things Adam did in the garden; he took God in vain by being disobedient; and two he followed another god (which was not God). In other words he followed someone other than his God his Creator; breaking the commandments thus sinning; and the wages of sin is death. The average Christian who works a 9 to 5 and barely has time to read the bible does not pay attention to what happened after Adam and Eve sinned against God.

The leaves they put on to cover themselves God replaced it with clothing; instantly a lamb was killed to cover their nakedness (their sin) so that they could live. Jesus Christ was that Lamb (Revelation 13 v8).

No Man Was Clean Enough: the second reason Jesus had to die was simply because there was and is not a man clean enough to die for the sins of the world. There was no man who could properly intercede for man. In Isaiah 59 verses 16 it says, 'And He saw that there was no man, and marvelled there was not an intercessor for the people: because of this His arm brought salvation to Him; and His goodness, sustained him.' Jesus set up priesthood to intercede for man but even the priests were not clean enough to do this job; therefore the Lord Himself had to bring on salvation.

Solomon will tell you in Ecclesiastes chapter 7 and verses 20 that no man on the earth is just and without sin; therefore there is no man that could actually die for the sins of another man having sin himself.

For these reasons alone it should clarify why Jesus had to die; this was a task He could not delegate to anyone because no one was qualified to do it and second God would have lost the entire creation if He did not do it because He said out of own mouth the wages of sin is death. This is why He had to become a man, leaving the glorious state of being Almighty God, to humble Himself to save humanity so that as many as would receive Him can one day become God in the Kingdom of God. Why did Jesus have to die, this is why; in order to save you and I; God had to keep His word and there were no qualified persons to do this job for Him.

God bless you to receive this with understanding in Jesus name… Amen!
