3 Simple Ways to Sprint Faster Today!

Being able to sprint fast is one of the most important asset you can have when playing sports. It is probably one of the criteria for coaches and team captains to choose the players they would like to have in their team. There are many ways to sprint faster, however, in this article, i will share 3 important tips you should always follow to allow you to sprint faster.

Stretching

Ever heard the phrase stretch before you exercise? Well, do not let it fall on deaf ears because stretching is one of the most important ways to help you sprint faster. I am sure you would have also heard that stretching prevents injury. But how does it make allow you to run faster?

Stretching can increase your range of motion and muscle pliability, which is all needed for running faster. Now you might be thinking, wait a minute, doesnt studies show that stretching decreases run speed? YES IT DOES. BUT. Those only refer to static stretching. The kind of stretching you need to do are dynamic stretching techniques, such as walking lunges, high knee drills or heel kick drills.

Eat Correctly

The ability to eat correctly is probably of the vital ways to sprint faster. For your body to function at optimum level. You have to start eating correctly. What do i mean by that? This mean eating enough food to fuel your body for all the training and workout you will be doing. On top of that, one of the key food you need in your body, especially for an athlete, is carbohydrates. This is because carbohydrates releases tons of energy for your body, as well as give you strength! Examples of carbohydrates can be rice, potatoes, cereal, bread, pasta etc)

Besides carbohydrates, protein is also important as it provides you nutrients for muscle building and repair. Calorie intake of an athlete should also be higher than non-active people.

Training

One of the most obvious ways to sprint faster is to TRAIN! If you do not train, you will definitely not be able to see any results. Think about it, even the most talented runner has to train to stay on top his game. There are many drills you can follow to sprint faster, such as plyometric workouts. However, it is important to find the correct drills that target improvement to the muscles that promote increase speed. With that said, one of the most important things to do when training is to set a goal and make it REALISTIC. With no realistic goals, you will never be able to achieve running fast, and may even feel demoralized when you do not seem to meet any expectations you give to yourself.

There you have it, the 3 ways to sprint faster are stretching, eating correctly and the obvious TRAINING. All sound simple, but trust me, constant reminders of these keys tips should always be present as many usually lose focus on the basics in the pursuit for excellence.
