The ball lands 25m away from you and you sprint towards it. You are almost there, when someone brushes pass you, gets the ball and scores a goal. Ever had a similar experience? Someone brushing pass getting ahead when you are just 1 step away from where you want to be, causing you the medal you or your team always wanted. Well i did. Yes, the feeling of having someone sprinting ahead of you just in time can become unbearable.
Even makes you feel that you caused the failure, and that you wished you could have just ran just a little faster.
If you play sports, you should know that the tiniest fraction of a second may be the deciding factor on whether you would win or lose the game. So how to become faster at sprinting? If you have that question in mind, you are in luck! Because you have found the right place to be in as today i will talk about some techniques i personally use to get run better.
The first thing i always tell anyone who asks on how to become faster at sprinting is to have the commitment to do it. Success DOES NOT come overnight, so does being able to run faster. This means that YOU HAVE TO TRAIN, and not sit around sulking about how you could have just ran a little faster. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! So how do you keep up with your training?
Set goals for yourself. You have to ask yourself, what is it that you want to achieve? If it is becoming faster, try a 100m sprint with one of your faster mates setting him/her as the bar you want to reach. If you think you are already the fastest, time a 100m sprint, and try to knock of 5-10 seconds off the timing. That will be your main goal. (If you are looking on how to become faster at sprinting longer distances, you can increase the distance).
Once this goal is set, set realistic goals for yourself to achieve. These are smaller goals for you to reach before reaching your main goal. This could be knocking off 2 seconds off your personal time, or even smaller goals such as completing a single exercise routine if you have been procrastinating on training. Just remember, take little steps! Make it achievable so that you do not get demoralised.
The next tip on how to become faster at sprinting is to do the training. There are various routines you can follow that can be found on the internet if you intend to become faster. This would include plyometric exercises, interval trainings or strength training.
Follow these tips and you may even become the advocate on how to become faster at sprinting in future.
