While I am still young enough to be able to see, hear, and to move without the pain and stiffness of arthritis getting in my way, I would love to participate in the Boston Marathon. While I was in the Boston area, I would be able to check out the area's fine shopping and dining establishments. I would also be able to visit my relatives, who live in a nearby state. We could talk, laugh, and play Scrabble. I have several reasons for wanting to participate in this famous running event.
First, I love the outdoors. While participating in the marathon, I would be outside, enjoying the fresh air, sights, and sounds of Boston. I would also be out among other people. I would not be inside my house, isolated from others. In addition to my love of the outdoors, there is a second reason why I want to participate in the Boston Marathon: weight management.
By learning to manage my weight, I would hopefully be able to live longer. I would also feel better, hopefully be able to avoid conditions such as diabetes, and be able to wear flattering clothing. Besides enjoying the outdoors and wanting to take care of myself, there is one more reason why I would like to participate in this event: my blog.
An article about my experience participating in the Boston Marathon would be, I would hope, both enjoyable and informative for my readers. They would get to read about my experience, and they would learn what they could expect if they decided to participate in it.
At the end of the race, I would be tired. I would be smelly and sweaty. I would not be fit for any pictures. Pictures are not my goal, however. I simply want to enrich my life. Participating in the Boston Marathon would help me to do just that.
After the race, I could go shopping for a souvenir of my marathon experience. I might buy a T-shirt that says "Boston" on it. When I wore it, I would remember my run. I might also find a pair of keychain-sized running shoes that I could hang on my keychain. When I looked at them, I would remember the great experience I had.
I could then go home, rest up, wash my smelly running clothes, tell my loved ones about my experience, and prepare for the next marathon.
