Gravity And Light

Gravity is what keeps everything clinging to earth and what keeps the universe and all heavenly bodies in orbit around the stars and defines the speed and distance at which these bodies , to stay in its relative position in the universe. Its believed that gravity has a speed as great as light if not greater.

The reason gravity could be faster than light, is the fact that light is a constant 186,000 miles per second. There's no constant for gravity that we know of. It's been suggested that galaxies at the far reaches of space can be traveling faster than the speed of light, and if so, it's because they are escaping the gravitational pull of what may be a giant black hole in the center of the universe. But this is just speculation on my part, but it could be true and until I learn different that is what I will believe.

Now to travel great distances in outer space we definitely will need to travel faster than the speed light, using the sling shot effect around planets and stars using their gravity to speed up the space craft to a faster and faster speed, light speed and greater can probably be obtained. Calculations would be done on a large-scale by a super computer to get the right trajectory for each planet or star and declaration done in the same way plus use of rocket blast.

If we plan to visit other galaxies and planets we will need to go faster than light. At the speed of light it will take 6 years to reach the closest neighbor in outer space, Alfa Centaurus. and over 100 billion light years to reach the farthest know galaxies in the universe. Hopefully gravity has no speed limit and we will be able to harness it to travel great distances in outer space. If not it may take a thousand years of evolution before someone discovers a way to transverse these great distances, maybe an advanced race of people on another world, will bring us the knowledge before then.

Evidently, gravity is faster than light, simply because a black hole has gravity so strong the even light cannot escape its gravitational pull. If it has this effect on light then gravity from other bodies must also attract light and that is another story if gravity effects light then light is not a constant and gravity controls its speed. Light may be slower the closer to the sun it is and has a hard time escaping its gravity just like a black hole only weaker.
