I decided to write a review on Slave To Sensation since it's one of my favourites and is the type of book I could read over again. It's that good.
The author, in my opinion is quite simply one of the best authors in the paranormal romance category. She draws her readers in with the captivating world she creates for her characters and the compelling relationships that bring her characters together in different ways.
Slave To Sensation is the first book in the psy - changeling series and more are still being written which I can't wait for since I've just finished book ten. This series is about a world created in the future and the interesting thing about it is that humans aren't the only ones living in the world. There are also the psy which are physic beings who have all these different abilities such as seeing the future and being able to destroy someones mind with a simple thought. The Psy are very unique as they created a programme named silence which leaves every one of them unable to feel emotion. Except, that silence is slowly beginning to fall...Then there are the changelings which are people who have abilities that can change them into a certain animal such as leopards, wolves, rats and any other animals you can think off. To me, putting these two species together in a world with humans in the near future is a an amazing idea and one that makes an exceptional novel for the supernatural lovers.
The first novel introduces the readers to the powerful connection that's created when a very gifted and seemingly broken psy meets an alpha changeling who has a tendency of being over-protective. It shows the readers the struggle that goes on between both main characters when they fight against their beliefs, desires and the psy council to realise that they can't live without one another. The main plot to the novel centers around alpha changeling Lucas, who is on the hunt to find the killer of his pack mates sister and using the gifted Sascha to get closer to that killer. The killer is psy, after all....
The connection that Nalini Singh creates between her characters and the way she can make you feel how the character is feeling each time is what drew me to continue on with this series. It got to the point where I just couldn't put the book down, I loved it! This book is defiantly for those who like their romance heated up and an intriguing storyline that keeps on getting more interesting and compelling with each book.
