Computer make your life easier. You don't work harder, but seem to be working longer. Therefore, your free time is limited. After all the chores are done and the kids are in bed, you're exhausted. Yet you have tons of photos sitting around the house that you want to do something with. Well, how about some KISS (Keep It Simple Scrapbooking). You don't have to spend a lot of time doing it. Of course, if you have the time, you can get elaborate and create an artist quality page with all the embellishments and ornate layouts. Most people, however, want to simply create a book to preserve memories and stories for generations to come.

The first step is to decide which paper(s) you will use. To me, the paper can make or break a page. Today there are thousands of patterns and types of paper to choose from Just visit your local hobby shop to see the selection. While paper can be expensive, it frequently goes on sale. Just watch for ads in your local paper. So, pick a paper that either reflects the theme of your event or compliments the colors in the photo. Here's a sample of a Safari Party I scrapped.

For this page, I simply chose an animal pattern that complimented the safari theme, placed 3 (the eye likes odd numbers) photos, used a zebra sticker and journaled the story. Journaling the story can be a simple blurb (as shown on my page) or answer the questions Who?, What?, When?, Where?, How? It's up to you. Journaling can be handwritten or typed. This is your preference.

Another KISS page is the London sample. I didn't actually take these photos. They are purchased postcards but I wanted them to be part of my London pages. As you can see, I just used colors from the London flag to accent and used a purchased die cut for the title. I cut out the date and used a plane sticker to hold my actual ticket stub. Remember, on trips save to save your stubs and any other souvenirs and memorabilia. They easily enhance your page without a lot of effort.

Each of the pages was quick, simple and took under 10 minutes to do. I have more helpful tips on my website scrapbooking for anyone. Don't despair, if you can find 10 minutes a day, you can get through that photo pile in no time. Just remember KISS.
