Heartbleed bug after affecting almost all the websites that exist, and then putting millions of users’ personal and banking data at risk, was identified and is now pretty much patched up in most of the websites. But there are some websites that are still infected by the Heartbleed bug. Cyber criminals can easily exploit the Heartbleed vulnerability, which is a bug in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software, and can then steal information which is protected by the SSL/TLS encryption. Attackers make use of this vulnerability to eavesdrop communications, steal data from services and users, and also impersonate users and services.

Recently, leading security vendor AVG announced that it has integrated a Heartbleed Scanner tool in its Web TuneUp security solution. Many popular security solution vendors have already launched their version of Heartbleed Scanner. By adding this tool in Web TuneUp, AVG has also officially entered in the league of solutions that provide Heartbleed scanning ability.

By visiting websites that are infected by Heartbleed bug, users are putting their data in danger. AVG Heartbleed checker tool, incorporated into Web TuneUp, is a handy solution that can help users stay away from infected websites. Using this tool users can easily find out whether the website they are visiting is Heartbleed infected or not. All that the users have to do is: simply open the tool and then paste the URL of the website that they want to test. The tool does the rest. Based on the results, if a website doesn’t have the bug then it is recommended that users should change the username and password, because attackers might also have gathered knowledge of your password and username when you previously visited the infected site.

Incorporating AVG Heartbleed Scanner in Web TuneUp is a pretty good idea, because Web TuneUp is already a reliable and handy solution that is developed to give you protection against online threats. Simply download Web TuneUp from AVG website and then install it. It gets added as an extension to your web browser (except Google Chrome and Firefox). It works completely fine in IE in Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows OS. Web TuneUp gives real-time protection by stonewalling trackers, alerting dangerous sites. It also gives you easy ways to wipe all your browsing history, cookies, download history, and saved forms. You won’t face any problem using the tool, because it’s easy and functional. But if you do face problems or get error messages, then simply dial AVG customer support number and talk to the expert AVG team.

A good thing now, is that the help for AVG products can be availed from multiple sources. But only a few of them are actually good. SupportBuddy is among the few good ones.

All in all, integrating AVG Heartbleed Checker into Web TuneUp is a good step taken by AVG. AVG customers were in need of such tool from AVG. Heartbleed checker is all functional, easy, and effective. Simply install and use this free tool and if a problem arises simply avail the all time available expert support for AVG products.
