Having confidence in yourself basically means to believe in yourself and being confident in succeeding. Each of us values ourselves differently and we each have varying levels of self-confidence.

Your self-confidence will also fluctuate throughout life based on different events and experiences. What's important to note though is that you can actively work on gaining self-confidence and give your self-esteem that much needed boost.

The following are a few quick-fire tips you should consider for gaining more confidence in yourself:

Believe in yourself

Work on your inner-dialogue and thoughts and actively work to weed out any negativity that may be dampening your self-confidence. Fill your mind with positivity and remind yourself you can do anything you put your mind to.

Take pride in your appearance

If you want to feel good then it's important to look good! Concentrate on your appearance and make a little extra effort to ensure you look presentable and that you feel confident in what your wearing.

Pretend you're confident

It's important to test your boundaries and step outside your comfort zone. Even if you don't feel to confident at something just tell yourself that you can do it and act in a manner which displays having confidence in yourself.


Affirmations are short and positive self scripts that you read aloud to yourself on a daily basis. Affirmations have proven to be an effective tool for gaining self-confidence as well as many other areas of personal development.

Take Charge

Sometimes acknowledging we want to change something is enough to inspire this change with a purpose. Take charge of the fact you want to gain more self-confidence and actively work everyday to making it happen.

Express Gratitude

One of the key areas for gaining confidence is to feel good about yourself. Expressing gratitude is a simple technique for bringing about that feel good factor, display gratitude always and you'll naturally improve your self-confidence.

Set new goals

Sometimes we become victim of our own lifestyles and never really set ourselves any new goals or challenges. Lacking self-confidence could be a sign of needing to step outside your comfort zone try something new. Keep pushing yourself to achieve new things.

Celebrate your progress

If you are setting new goals and overcoming new challenges then congratulate yourself each time you achieve something new. Giving yourself a pat on the back is a great way to remind yourself of your achievements and give your self-confidence a boost.
