Introduction
In recent news, some banks have reached settlement agreements about mortgage loans with the Federal government. The Canadian Press reported the bulk of the money will go to California and Florida. The five mortgage lenders who reached that settlement deal were Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Ally Financial. Homeowners might get some help from this settlement.
Regardless of whether the settlement helps you or not, you can stop home foreclosure with high self confidence. People with high self confidence can look on the bright side of things. Instead of focusing on what is wrong, they can focus on good things. If they still have jobs, they can do things to help keep their jobs and to move ahead. People who do their work well and get along with co-workers tend to keep their jobs. Some bosses like people who come up with new ideas to save money or to improve customer service. As long as you present the ideas privately (so co-workers are less likely to become jealous of you), they can provide feedback about your ideas.
Saving Money and Making Extra Money
People can find ways to save money without clipping coupons for hours and hours. As you can tell, I am not very much in favor of clipping coupons. I saved grocery money in the past by buying discounted items at nicer stores (which tend to cost more than stores with lower-priced products). Sometimes I liked generics and sometimes I didn't like them. If generics worked, I would use them. Some stores offer brands of food or products that I prefer. I would buy those items at those stores. However, I would do most of the grocery shopping at the lower-priced stores.
I live in southern California, and I thought groceries would be more expensive here than in Columbus, Ohio. That is not necessarily true. One store in Temecula offers discounted food baskets which feeds a family of four for one week. We have taken advantage of those food baskets.
People can save money on electric bills by turning the computers off at night and turning off lights when not in use. The water bill is lower when you water the lawn every few days instead of every day. People save money on groceries by planning their meals and shopping only once a week or once every two weeks. I brown-bagged my lunch almost every day.
The Internet is full of ideas on how you can save money. You can also make money in various ways. If you are unemployed, you can look for a job or pursue hobbies to make extra money. You can find clothes you don't need and bring them to consignment shops. You can sell extra stuff you don't need by having garage sales. Some people rent or sub-lease rooms in their homes.
Summary
I presented many ideas on saving money and making extra money. I also gave ideas on how to keep (and possibly even advance) on your job if you still have one. Just remember, you don't have to do it all by yourself. People with high self confidence can ask other people for help. Family members and friends can help you overcome a bad financial situation. You can stop home foreclosure when your financial situation gets better by saving money, making extra money, or a combination of both. This way you have an opportunity to build self confidence by meeting this challenge and encourage other people at the same time.
I recently thought of another tip - if you are a low-income homeowner or renter, you might qualify for discounts on your utility bills. People can learn to change their habits so they can save some money and make some extra money, depending on their priorities. Not everyone has time to hold yard sales.
