Why Do We Work so Hard?

At one time, man lived lazy and comfortable in a special garden called Eden, along with woman under the protection of the Highest, until an unfortunate incident between the woman and a Serpent. The Serpent as you well know was called the Evil One and as you can guess, I am referring to Adam and Eve and I suspect that the story went something like this.

The All-Powerful God said to Adam and Eve; "you see that tree in the middle over there? If you think you are bad, go and touch that tree in the middle and find out if you both will be doomed to death for eternity". However, the Serpent heard the remark and as soon as God ventured back to heaven he whispered in Eve's ears. “All that you are being told is not true, the all-powerful do not wish you to acquire knowledge that will open your eyes so that you can see the world as it really is". Eve was disappointed to know that their Creator wanted to keep all the special knowledge for himself but was thrilled to be told a secret and so she advanced toward the tree and took a few of the forbidden fruits and shared them with Adam.

The Heavenly Father was so upset once he discovered the disobedient, and so they were casted out of the magnificent Garden, however before he bid them goodbye he extended instruction to them about how they should fend for themselves in the new world that they could see with their naked eyes. I suppose, God said to them, “You have brought dishonor upon me and sin upon yourselves and so you shall labor hard under the sun for the bread that you shall eat, include the clothes you shall wear. You shall be very tired at the end of the day and I bid you farewell to a life of everlasting endeavor”. Since this former event took place man have been working extremely hard under the Sun to survive.

The values that we learnt from our parents while growing up from innocent babies to adults, include the success and failure training that were hammered in our tender brains during our schoolings and the input of other things such as Television or Radio program. Also our social gatherings that make up the crowd or groups we hanged out with. The introduction to accomplishments, in our daily lives also contributed to our mindset as we advance toward adulthood and invaded the Job markets as a professional with a degree or a job skill.

In today world the majority of us work from 8 am to 5 pm at a regular job, however, there are those who put in extremely more work hours depending on if they are running their own business or just unfortunately, to be laboring for a cruel boss, who demand that they extend more hours so that his or her business can earn a hefty profit. The thought of receiving the biggest bonus, the next promotion include praises in order to acquire a sense of importance and accomplishment is one of the reason why we wake up so early in the mornings and head to work and toil until near sunset or after nightfall.

Life in society for many is about how many children they have to feed, clothes, educate, health welfare includes how much money they earn plus more. Many of us have been hoarding away money and making ourselves fat, yet many do not ask themselves why they work so hard? We struggle to be the best, own the best and to give the best to our children, families, organization or society. Working and more working seem to be the order of life. Many may not be happy, but they will say that they do not have a choice in the matter. If you ever ask a busy person why he or she work so hard, chance the first statement from their mouth will be of similar nature. It would go such as; “I have to educate my kids”, and possible you hear, “I have to provide bread for my family”. You might also hear the following comment from many; “I have nothing else to do because this is all I have”.

Consider a person who does not wish to work. Such person will possible sleep late then eat and back to bed for more sleep and as the process continue, he final have nothing to eat and nothing to pay his bills with, his family suffer and are in great needs. Poverty is a monster and a destructive force, the best way to combat it is to work hard and be successful. Many successful people who have become rich or famous from their lots under the sun still continue to work. It is a known fact that a person who does nothing life span is shortened, but those who work extend their life for more years in the future.

But still why does society work so hard? Why do we work so hard? Because in this life we have to consider what to do with our time, so we work hard for our food, shelter, clothes, transportation, education, sound systems include all our heartily desires. We strive for success because we want to be successful and not be influenced by others. We also wish to take vacations and relax temporarily from our labor under the sun. In this short life of ours the work that we do help us to keep body and soul include a sane mindset. Therefore, we should enjoy our labor until it is time for us to depart from this world. So, my friend, life is work enjoy it and remember that when we die we shall not be doing anything again in this life, therefore, let us work for success, prosperity and a better tomorrow.
