The Book Soul Surfer: A True Story Of A Girl Who Never Lost Her Faith In God

'If life hands you lemons, make lemonade.' You probably must have heard this phrase countless times before, but you will certainly understand its real depth and significance once you read the book 'Soul Surfer', an autobiographical book, originally written by the main protagonist herself, Bethany Hamilton.

Bethany is a young girl who is extremely passionate about surfing and she dedicates herself to the ocean and the surfboard entirely. But, this is not the thing that makes her special. What makes Bethany Hamilton one-of-a-kind girl is her strong spirit and determination to overcome even the most difficult moments in her life and become a surfing champion.

Soul Surfer book explains the event when she lost her arm. On an early Halloween morning in Kauai, Hawaii, while surfing the waters of the powerful Pacific Ocean, Bethany got attacked by a shark, a painful and terrible situation where she lost her arm. While many were expecting the most promising female surfer to give up and leave an open door to her competition, Bethany and her strong faith in God made her go back to the waters of the Pacific. Truth is that she was stronger than ever, boosted with unstoppable will and eager to show that she is here and she has never gone away.

In her book, Bethany speaks how difficult it was to face the cruel reality, but she also says that she has always felt God being on her side, even in the moments of the tragedy, when she felt His presence and give her the strength and bravery to make it back to the beach. Bethany never lost the faith in God, nor in herself. The first question after the surgery was when can she start to surf again.

After moments of doubt and hesitation, thanks to the immense support of her family, friends and of course, pastor Rick Bundschuh, who was Bethany's spiritual advisor, she decided to share her experience with the world and that is how the book Soul Surfer was born. Its ultimate message is to never give up on your dreams, nor God, even when life hands you the sourest lemons. Aside from the tragic event of Bethany Hamilton, the Soul Surfer book tells her life before and after the tragic attack Because, the power of God will help you make the sweetest lemonade, just like it brought Bethany's biggest victory in her life by winning the World Surfing Championships afterwards.
