Are you tired of having little or no energy to do the things you want to do? Do you have trouble breathing, bending over, getting dressed? When I was pregnant and gained 60 pounds I couldn’t walk 10 feet without shortness of breath; forget getting on the treadmill. My back hurt all the time. Iwas grouchy even down right mean because of the extra weight I was carrying . Then guess what I didn’t loose any of the weight I put on in that pregnancy do you think my symptoms went away. Nope, well maybe just alittle otherwise I’m sure my husband would have left ( yes it was that bad). I still have the back pain, still get short of breath, and if you try to say anything about what I eat watch out I’ll take your head off.
That was up until last week. Last week I was talking to a client about these articles I’ve been writing about weight loss and she mentioned that she had this book that she had picked up after hearing about it on Dr Oz. It’s called “Think Yourself Thin – The Revolutionary Self-Hypnosis Secret to Permanent Weight Loss” by Darcy Buehler, Ph.D..
This book comes with a CD that is suppose to help you hypntize yourself into eatting less food, less often, with smaller portions. So I borrowed the book and first thing I did was to put the CD in my CD player in the car ( Which I wouldn’t really recommend as it’s suppose to relax you and that could be dangerous, so listen to it at home as the book recommends ok) anyway I listened to the CD between clients, and after a while the words just sort of became background noise. Then I began to notice something that day, the next day, and day 3; I wasn’t as hungry as I usually am and when given the opportunity to indulge, I wasn’t interested. By day 4, I was back to snacking again so I guess for me I should probably listen to the CD every 2 – 3 days. All that just by listening to a CD and guess what I lost a pound that week. For me that’s a good start.
After day 2, I picked up the book and now I’m not giving it back. At least not until I get my own copy. It’s a good read. I’m not usually one to read every line of a weight loss book but this one I went back to the beginning after skimming the first chapter and started over, every line. I’m on Chapter 5 and we’ve already learned why those popular diets don’t work, because they’re short term thinkers, low calorie, low carb, only protein. How long can your body keep it up and apparently it can be dangerous to your health if you do it for too long. It can affect your brain, your arteries, and your muscles. Read the book for specifics.
I love this book because it emphasises that it’s not a Diet, it’s a Lifestyle Change. I can tell you I never thought that self-hypnosis would work but I hope the end is as good as the beginning I’ll let you know.
