It was fun when Robby and Suzie came out of college, they had a very vivid picture of how they wanted to live their lives.  They worked on their efforts to get the best grades so they can secure a cool decent job. They needed to get the pay checks to pay the rent and take care of the bills.  Their  job was okay, but soon, they realized they didn’t have much time for their own lives. It seems as though their lives didn't belong to them any more but to  the companies that pay their pay checks.

Sometimes they sat and imagined their world and visualized being able to do all the other things they really loved to do; but in their dreams it will remain until they hit retirement.

Kobbie, graduated from college same year as Robbie and Suzie and decided to start a home business. His parents didn't like the idea that he had to tow this line right after college and vehemently advocated against his line of action, but he stood to his grounds and partnered with a  friend who trained as a caterer in a vocational institute.  With Kobbie’s expertise in business development and Edem's skill In cooking, they started a partnership. Nothing comes easy, and they both had to be faced with the reality of the hustle and bustle life of Accra.  Moving from shop to shop, mall to mall asking business owners to try their first pepper sauce; and not to mention to numerous rejections and objections along the way.

Guess Edem's skill soon paid off when they had their first order to supply 20 bottles of the sauce.

Kobbie put together the business plan and worked out all the necessary business strategies to set the business going and after three years of hard work, their business is thriving and life couldn't have been better. Kobbie is able to travel at will, spend more time with his just formed family and Edem, enjoying the things she loves to do.

The two corporate individuals leave home quite early to beat the crazy city traffic jams and to get to a job that pays their livelihood and hopefully gives them some fulfillment. As much as they complain about their situation and hoped that things be done differently, they still haven't found the gut to follow their passion because of job security.

In everything my friends, there are risks and taking these risks are necessary if we need a working lifestyle we can pretty much control.

Robbie and Suzie are still working their 8am -5pm job hoping they will be able to save enough for an early retirement.
