Pursuit Of Goals

Accomplishing goals is the biggest challenge in life. No matter how difficult it might seem, we should put all our efforts and try to get what we want. It is said that the thing for which a person is really passionate about always takes place. Beyond all the negative things and hurdles, the occurrence of the ultimate event is always ensured in life. So, this concept should be considered as a source of inspiration by everyone. People should try to understand this and help themselves in achieving their goals.

Identify Them

Before initiating any step towards a goal, its identification is very essential. We should try to know the things that we want from life. People should observe their own lives and try to find out their goals. Also, goals should never be made under the influence of someone else. It is always good if the decision is taken personally by individuals. When we are confused, we can take advice and suggestions from people around us, but final decision should be our own. We should refer all the choices and identify our goals carefully. The completion of this job minimizes a lot of problems. Thus, once we identify our goals, we can start working on them for early accomplishment.

Be Specific

When we wish to do something in life, specificity is very important. It means, just knowing the goals without any particularity cannot serve the purpose. The lack of this quality can make individuals move fast heading nowhere. Without knowing the correct destination, running fast makes no sense. So, it is good to be specific while deciding goals. The area to which it belongs, the basic requirements one needs to have for fulfilling it and many such things should be known in this sphere. This can help us in reaching our destination easily. Being unspecific introduces a lot of diversions in the path of success that is unlikable. Thus, we are required to be very specific while making our choices for achieving good and fast results.

Set Time Limits

The completion of every work has a certain time limit. Extending it or continuing the work beyond it can only bring problems. Taking idea from this concept, we should set time limits for achieving a certain goal. This helps in increasing your pace of work. Also, time limits can encourage you to take steps that are effective and show results within the desired time. This serves as a boost to the entire event, works in favour of a brighter future and increase total quality of your life.

Street Talk

I agree with you Sarah. Certainly there are some situations in our life that can prevent and distract us from our plan, but generally speaking to achieve our goals we need to work on them continuously, every day. It's great that you invest so much will to care for your mom. She is certainly happy mom! Thanks for your comment. P. S. I wish you rapid success with losing weight!

I agree goals must be specific, must be goals people want for themselves, and they need time limits. However, I think time limits should be flexible (to some extent). Things happen in life. For example, people may get in accidents or get sick. For example, when I was taking care of Mom, she needed 24/7 care. I was keeping track of what I ate because I was on Weight Watchers. However, I had a hard time keeping track of my eating and physical activity when I was taking care of Mom because my focus was to make sure she was getting good medical care and was safe. I also tried to find things she enjoyed doing so she could have some fun. Therefore, I put my diet on hold. Now I am back to working on losing weight.

Knowing the goals you are working toward, creating a list of steps to achieve them, and applying a timeline as to which step is due when is a surefire way to achieve your goals. Nice article, Milos!
