Insert A Hyperlink Within An Article - Key Guidelines For The Best Click Through Rate At Street Articles

One thing I know for sure, stuffing an article full of hyperlinks not only spoils the overall look of your article but also makes it very clear to any reader that you are blatantly trying to promote something to them. Now while some article directories still allow this blatant promotion, Street Articles have had the foresight to only allow a certain number of hyperlinks depending on the number of words in your article. In other words, you have to qualify to insert a hyperlink within an article at Street Articles.

In this article I want to explain how you can earn the right to include hyperlinks in your articles at SA but also how to achieve the ultimate click-through rate (CTR) by following some straight forward guidelines. I would even be so bold to say that if you followed these rules while submitting to other article directories, you would most likely also benefit from a better CTR.

Hyperlink Qualifying Criteria at SA

Right here at Street Articles you can write, submit and publish your own content and insert a hyperlink within an article that people will not only read but will also click on when your content has been approved. You have to ensure that you conform with the strict publishing guidelines set out at SA. In the "Links" section of the publishing guidelines it clearly states that in order for you to create a hyperlink you need to write a minimum of 400 words. A 400 hundred word article written at SA will entitle you to insert 2 links.

Failing to write 400 words actually renders the "Link" button in the WYSIWYG tool bar useless. Once you fulfill the 400 word article requirement, the "Link" button is activated and you can then insert your links. These links must be inserted after the 300th word in the article and not before.

You can qualify for another hyperlink by adding more content. For example, if you write an 800 word article then you will qualify for 3 links in your article. The more hyperlinks you qualify for and insert the better the click through rate you will achieve. However, these strict rules ensure that you insert hyperlinks evenly placed throughout the content of your article making the whole reading experience much more pleasurable.

Guidelines for Achieving a High CTR

Most people add links back to their website from within their articles but situate them poorly leading to a low CTR. A low CTR means low affiliate revenue. This is because the less people that click your links, the less people arrive at your website where you ultimately promote your products.

Let me start by explaining the core linking rules within Street Articles so that there is no confusion.

Rule 1: No Affiliate Links - All links must be directly to a website and not through an affiliate link. You are allowed to have affiliate links on your website, but not within the actual article.

Rule 2: No Text URL Links - You cannot link the text URL. You can link to that URL, but you cannot have that text.

Rule 3: No Call To Action Links - From now on you are not allowed to blatantly call people to take action with phrases such as Click Here, Buy Now, For More Information etc. These types of links are known as call to action links and are set for the sole purpose of getting someone to take immediate action. All links should appear naturally within your article.

Rule 4: No setting up links with meaningless content - A lot of people write content that is totally irrelevant to the article. Examples of this are "there is great information on the internet where you can find out lots of cool information on TOPIC A". This is not allowed.

Rule 5: No promotional links - You cannot explicitly promote products within an article. Examples of this would be: "Join wealthy affiliate, it is awesome", "this site is the best thing in the world", etc.

In short, your links should be placed naturally within your article so that your article remains engaging and the relevance flows. Your ultimate goal should be to help and engage the reader of the article. If you do this, the links will attract a much better CTR.

People are not stupid. They know when they are being sold to and the majority of people don't like being sold to. However, engage the reader and offer value and you will earn credibility and trust and then the links will take care of themselves.

Here are some quality techniques that you can utilize to achieve very high click-through rates within your articles:

(1) Make the most of your link allocation, not just one. If you write a 400 word articles, you are allowed two links. Use them both as this instantly doubles your CTR.

(2) Link under different terms within your article and link under phrases relevant to the article content. If you were writing an article about "how to insert a hyperlink within an article", you would want to link terms that are relevant to "inserting hyperlinks". This will maximize the number of people that click your links.

(3) Write engaging content. Chances are if you don't get likes or tweets after seeing a fair number of visitors, you are not writing content that the reader is making it all the way through. This can drastically affect the CTR.

(4) Link longer phrases as opposed to just one word. You are allowed to link up to a 5 word phrase...utilize this. Often times longer links will get a higher click-through.

(5) Make sure your links are relevant. Don't send people in a different direction than they are expecting. The worst thing you can do is link under a term that is totally irrelevant to your landing page. If you link the term "Horse Feeders" within your articles, you better ensure the link takes the reader through to a landing page where they can find out more about Horse Feeders. This keeps the flow of relevancy and ensure that people come back to read your articles and share them socially with others

By following these linking techniques at Street Articles you should drastically increase your CTR. There is no reason why you should not achieve at least a 30% + CTR within your articles if you follow these tips.

Nice article. I'm sure this will benefit a lot of people. One thing I've found that increases CTR is how big the link is. If you have 4 massive adjective words and then the noun, chances are you'll increase CTR by that alone. ;)
