Has Search Engine Optimization become such a negative phrase to the point where where the industry needs to change the name to Search Experience Optimization?
Search Engine Optimization (known as SEO in brief) has played a very important role in how people find what they are looking for online. It has also created many opportunities for income to those who wish to profit from business' that wish to rank in the search engines.
This has also created a fine line between good and bad 'SEO' to the point where it is labelled white hat and black hat search engine optimization.
Ranking websites have always been an uphill battle with white hat SEO's who in theory, follow along with Google's guidelines on ranking in their search engine. Why?
Because black hat SEO's are always trying to game the system and essentially cheat their way to the top of Google. This causes Google to make changes to their algorithm and prevent these unethical tactics from happening. With this change, comes shifts with how to ethically rank in Google thus causing white hat SEO's to make changes in their campaigns.
It's an never ending battle.
But the light at the end of the SEO tunnel is that website traffic has made an evolutionary shift and doesn't solely rely on search engine traffic.
Social metrics have played a huge role in personalizing the web and this is making a positive impact in search engine world.
Google has noticed this so much to the point where they have created their own Social Network called Google+.
This is where Search Experience Optimization comes in…
Google+ has made search much more personal because it has allowed authors to include their image within search results and links to other posts that they may have created or approved by giving it a +1.
Google's Local Marketing trends have also adopted this philosophy with Google Plus Local and are merging Google Places into the Google+ Stream. They've even brought on the review company Zagat to implement into the rating system.
This groundbreaking addition to search marketing has caught on by storm which is causing the blackhat SEO's to adopt this ethical way to market online and change the way search optimization is conducted. Does this mean that Blackhat SEO's are throwing down the gauntlet and giving up? Not at all, it merely means that search experience optimization that resides inside search is a trend not worth ignoring.
In conclusion, when you created any form of online marketing project, be sure to include G+ and other forms of social interaction to make the search experience personal for awesome rankings.
