As a beginner, one should understand the concept of on-site and off-site optimization. So it is understood that both require the use of keywords to gain traffic. So which aspect do they differ? It is the website that is used; can’t you tell by the name? On-site SEO is apparently the more relevant one. This is creating an excellent content for the main website with the keywords infused within the writings. This particular type generates natural traffic, for people who usually view this page are those people who have typed in the exact keywords and clicked on the direct link of the main web page.
The other type – off-site SEO – is different in the sense that it uses other websites to draw traffic for the main website. This is when back links become very relevant. It may be in a form of link that when clicked, redirects the viewer to the main site. Or it could be in a form of anchor text – a keyword that can be clicked – which when clicked would also link back to the main website. This is the basics of link building, generating traffic.
Why Traffic is Important?
Generally, traffic is one of Google’s ways of determining whether a website should be shown in searches done by an internet user. When good traffic is achieved, the website receives a particular Google page rank. The better both on-site and off-site optimization techniques are, the better traffic it is for the main site. In turn, this gives the web page a high ranking and eventually excellent online presence.
