Within this article I hope to give you a solid Coleman 9949 - 750 Road Trip Grill LXE Review that will help you assess the pros and cons of this grill.
I love to grill! Probably because I have spent a good portion of my life in Argentina where I consider is the best place to grill "gaucho" style. Now the fact that I am even reviewing a gas grill would be offensive to a gaucho (argentine cowboy - in case you didn't know) who pride on cooking slow with nature's elements.
But gas grills can be very practical for various reasons. In this article I'll talk about the fuel usage, the size and dimensions, and pros and cons of the Coleman Road Trip Grill LXE.
Coleman 9949 - 750 Road Trip Grill LXE Fuel usage
- This gas grill is very hot but it doesn't require a whole lot energy consumption
- It has two burners that use 10,000 BTU each (British Therman Unit - standard heating measurement)
- It takes anywhere from two to four and half hours for the portable propane tank to be used up which you can buy for a couple bucks at places like Target
- You also have an option of getting an accessory that will allow you to hook up to a 20 pound propane tank
Coleman 9949 - 750 Road Trip Grill LXE Size and Dimensions
- You have a total of 285 square inches to cook on. Customers who have used it report that it has plenty of room for a family and for guests to enjoy. Some recommend that if you are just cooking for a few you should consider just using one burner to not have as much cleanup.
- It measures 36 x 22 x 13 inches (when it is collapsed)
- The shipping weight is around sixty pounds (so it is not super light). When I first started learning about gas grills and how to purchase them online, I thought there is no way a lot of people will be buying these online because shipping will be too expensive. I was wrong. Amazon offers free shipping and it arrives pretty quick.
- It does have wheels so the weight issue doesn't really become a problem. You carry it with a handle and take it around like you would a small carry-on suitcase with wheels.
Coleman 9949 - 750 Road Trip Grill LXE Pros & Cons
- This is the best selling gas grill at the time I write this article at Amazon so obviously a lot of people are buying and what was interesting to me is that it is NOT a brand new product (although they seemed to have made some improvements on the original model). The reviews of this same product go back unto 2006.
- It is portable, easy to use and has a great price for what you get
- It heats in all kinds of weather (if anything people recommend not using it on high)
- You have the ability to change the cooking platforms between a stove, grill or griddle
- There are two main complaints if you were to read through all of 221 reviews: cleaning and problems when cooking with the lid closed
- Some complain about the cleaning others say the exact opposite - that it is easy to clean
- Overall this is an incredible little grill for its price
- It has over four stars at amazon
I hope this review of the Coleman Road Trip Gas Grill has helped you in your research of what gas grill to purchase. Happy Grilling!
