I have been selling on Ebay for the last few years. Some of the things I sell are things that are around the house that we don't use anymore, some of the things I sell I get from auctions and garage sales, and some things I sell I actually buy online from nationally known chain stores that have discounts and clearances and then resell on Ebay.
When I was told by a friend about Ebates and that they give you cash rebates for shopping at various stores online, I was eager to check it out, because it would be great to get a discount on whatever it is I buy online. After all, while most of the shopping I did online was for reselling for a profit, it would be better for my bottom line to receive even more money. And I always look for things to add to a site that I have where I offer things that don't cost anything to get started.
Ebates was free to sign up, no credit card or Paypal for anything, I just signed up with my information, and I was done. I was ready to go shopping online and see what kind of discount I would get. I also received five dollars in my account just for joining. They had many stores available to choose from and to shop at. Just to name a few of the stores they offered a percentage of sale rebate in cash on were Walmart, Bath and Body Works, Target, Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, Cabela's, Sears and even Netflix. This was just a very small list of stores, there are over 1200 of them.
The only negative thing that I found out about Ebates is something that is minor, but it has cost me money more than once. That is forgetting to first go to Ebates, then they take you to the store you plan to shop at and then receive your rebate. It was disappointing to go online and spend a couple hundred dollars and then remember that I forgot to go to Ebates, so I won't get my 2 to 5 percent, sometimes more in cash back. They also paid additional cash if I referred other friends to shop with them, which was $5.00 for each friend.
Ebates sends checks out to all members that have over $5.01 due them. And they do this 4 times a year. I got a check for $40.59 from them about 2 weeks ago, so they have been reliable in paying as promised. They sent the check out on May 15th for all the sales I had January 1st through March 31st. This check was smaller than previous checks I got, but I did not do alot of shopping after Christmas. But still it was nice to receive something back for shopping online and doing nothing other than remembering to stop at Ebates before I started shopping at the store they offered the rebate at.
So, to review, Ebates is a site that gives anyone that shops online money back for shopping at one of 1200 different online stores. There were no hidden costs that I encountered with them. And the check I received from them was correct and on time. I hope this review of Ebates gives you a better understanding about how they operate and what they have to offer.
