What Would Life Be Like Without Today’s Technology? Today’s Book Readers

I absolutely love technology. It has impacted my life profoundly. We all have to have some level of entertainment in our lives. Whether it is watching TV, movies, or reading a book. We have gotten use to having access to many forms of entertainment instantly by being connect to the web.

What happened to the days of going to the book store and buying a book to read with a hard cover, feeling the pages all crisp and new as you turn the page? I was walking around the mall the other day, which I have not done in years. I walked pass the book store, or what use to be the book store. It was one of the only places in the mall that had not changed in over 20 years. It was gone! It went out of business and it was not just a mom and pop shop. It was a big chain store. To me that was a wake up call as to where technology is leading us to and just one aspect as to how it effects our lives.

Ebooks have revolutionized out lives in how we get books, read books as well as interact with social media and the web. Instead of having shelves and shelves of books in our home we now can consolidate that into just one thin piece of technology that can do more than just read books. They even have free cloud storage so you are not limited by your internal memory. We have online stores that take us just seconds to go to and shop around for your next best read, all from the convenience of your home, coffee shop, restaurant. In some cases while you are traveling on the road with your family.

Book readers have become powerful media hubs of entertainment. You can be connected to your favorite social network. Download videos, pictures, and songs. Get connected with internet radio stations, TV networks and more. There are a ton of apps that you can choose from. Play your favorite game and more.

These ereaders also can connect to other devices within your home and provide a seamless transition. For example say you are at the coffee shop watching a movie and it is closing time. Just stop where you are at, bring it home, and start right where you left off on your TV! How cool is that. The ebook has the technology to remember where you left off or what page you ended on so all you have to do is start it back up.

Ok so if using it for entertainment purposes wasn’t enough, you can email and view documents anytime. Need to stay connected to the office? This is just another benefit of trying to balance you life/work time. All you need is an internet connect, which in today’s world is not hard to find and it will only get better. More and more locations are becoming connected until one day it will be everywhere! If you can’t find a wifi hot spot then just create one. Most mobile smart phones allow you to create a mobile hotspot for you to connect wireless devices. How cool is that!

What ever you’re reasoning for getting an ereader, you’ll have tons of options for instant entertainment. Its technology has changed our lives in many ways.
