Linked to La Plagne, Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry by the Vanoise Express since 2003, the area of Paradiski is situated in the Tarentaise Valley in the east of France, not too far from the Italian border. Booking a catered chalet here is the ideal way to ski all three resort areas, and they each offer something slightly different.

Staying in a catered chalet near one of the 160 lifts that serve the area of Paradiski offers a great to opportunity to get out on the slopes to explore. If you are there for a week or more, your lift tickets for Paradiski give you access to all the other nearby resort areas of the region, and the Three Valleys is one of the best and largest ski areas in the world.

La Plagne

If you're not all that experienced on your skis, La Plagne is a great place to rent a catered chalet for a ski break. Created in 1961 in order to keep the area from becoming deserted, La Plagne was opened with just two lifts and four slopes. But how it has changed! Now, La Plagne has mostly intermediate slopes with a few good nursery slopes as well as some great challenging ones for those with more experience. Based on an interconnecting stretch of villages, La Plagne truly offers something for everyone. It is particularly well known for off piste skiing and snowboarding - in fact there is a snow park with half pipes and other challenging obstacles to add to the excitement.

Les Arcs

Les Arcs is made up of several main villages all linked together: Arcs 1600, 1800, and 2000 - with the recent addition of Arcs 1950. It has a reputation as one of the first "mega resorts" to link several villages, towns and pistes into a larger system, but you can still find many a lovely catered chalet so you won’t really feel like you're staying in a massive complex. The ambience is of a quaint village, while still keeping the advantages of a bigger resort. Arcs 1600 was opened first, in 1968, with Arcs 2000 opening in 1979, and the latest addition, Arcs 1950, opening in 2008. The area has a mix of open and wooded runs as well as a terrain park, which is great for snowboarders. If you're feeling the need for speed, try skiing down the speed course at Arcs 2000, which was used during the 1992 Olympics.

Peisey-Vallandry

Located between La Plagne and Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry is an ideal place to book in to a catered chalet for a winter break. It is actually twin areas that are split in to five villages. Peisey itself has been a tourist destination since the 1920s, and offers plenty to explore when you are off skis as well. Peisey-Vallandry is the more peaceful member of the Paradiski family, and, with locals living in the villages year-round, there is no bad time to visit. The area itself is great for a mixed group with plenty of beginner and intermediate slopes and a nice number of harder red and black slopes too.
