Daily Skin Care Tip #1: Know your Skin

There are 5 basic skin types:

• Sensitive

• Combination skin

• Normal skin

• Dry skin

• Oily skin

Each skin type requires specific care and has products that cater directly to that skin type and the most common issues each face. Knowing the type of skin you have will help in proper product selection and will ensure that you applying the product correctly for your skin type. Make sure that you read the instructions on each product to determine how you should use it to help your skin. First daily skin care tip, selecting the appropriate products for your skin type will produce healthier skin.

Daily Skin Care Tip# 2: Your Skin should be cleansed daily

Your skin is affected daily by the air quality, the variations in temperature, humidity or dryness in the air, dust, dirt and pollutants. Cleansing your skin daily will help to remove these harmful substances, helping to remove impurities. Daily cleansing is also needed to remove sunscreen and makeup that is applied. The sunscreen should be 35 or higher in SPF and should be reapplied throughout the day, as needed. Not using proper sunscreen for adequate sun protection may cause your skin to develop age spots, brown spots, and wrinkles. Sunblock and additional sun protection can help to protect your skin against cancer- a critical daily skin care tip.

Daily Skin Care Tip #4: Exercising, Water and Sleep

Your skin’s appearance can be improved with consistent exercise and appropriate amounts of sleep. To reduce sagging, use a cardio and strength training schedule. To avoid wrinkles, allow your body to get the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Exercise will also help to relieve stress, which will help to combat fine lines and wrinkles. Avoid toxin build-up in your skin by drinking eight glasses of water daily. Water helps to effectively flush your body of toxins that would otherwise clog your skin. Daily Skin Care Tip #5: Examine your skin

Examination of your skin is not typical in routine doctor check ups. You should be monitoring your skin consistently. You should be examining your skin for any developing skin problems. Annual examination with your dermatologist should be scheduled if your skin type is lighter or your skin has freckles or moles, particularly on your face, forehead or other places that are frequently exposed to the sun’s rays. As skin gets older, age spots, wrinkles, acne scarring or hyperpigmentation can still develop as skin problems. Most of these skin problems can be treated effectively at home and will help your skin to regain its healthy, youthful appearance. Examining your skin for developing skin issues is an important daily skin care tip.
