5 Natural Ways to Heal Acne Scars

There are many natural ways to heal acne scars. Which of them work, and which of them do not work? Well, you're going to need to be finding that out for yourself. Unlike dermabrasion or surgery in general, natural treatments do take quite a bit more time to work, and will vary in effectiveness depending on the person. While that said however, here are five natural ways to heal acne scars that you can try.

Lemon Juice. Lemons are a well known help for acne scars that are especially colored. Lemon juice is quite an effective bleach so if you've got scarring that's colorful you can change that with regular application of lemon juice. You might like to dilute it slightly with water since it can sting a bit when you apply it.

Rosehip Oil. This is effectively a miracle oil for scarring in general. Grown in South America it's one of the most effective treatments that you can try. It can be a bit hard to get hold of, but do try as it's an excellent skin regenerator and can help to smooth the skin. I highly recommend trying Rosehip oil as part of your treatment.

Salt Wash. This is quite an effective exfoliation technique. Regular exfoliation helps to remove the dead skin more efficiently and can help to reduce the appearance of scarring. Take two or three teaspoons of salt and use a drop or two of water to make it into a rough sort of paste. Rub it into the affected areas once a day for the best results. It can sting slightly (especially if you have any active acne).

Lavender Oil. In addition to the scent that lavender oil gives off, it's also an effective moisturizer. This will help the skin to remain supple and soft. Using moisturizer is something that any scar sufferer should be using - and the more natural the better.

Honey. Using manuka honey especially not only feels rather nice on the skin (once you've got past the messy aspects of it) and can also help to repair and nourish the skin. A simple face mask of honey can be used once or twice a day and you'll get good results from it.

These are just five natural ways to heal acne scars, and their ability to work their magic on you will depend on one thing: consistency. The more consistent that you are are with the treatments, the better results you will have. As I mentioned above you will also need to try several techniques before you find one that works. Don't give up though - it's worth the effort to find a natural solution that works.
