5 Tips For Healthy Skin Care

Apart from hair, skin is the second most important part of how well you look. There is never an early enough time to start to care about your skin. No matter when you start, you skin is the one part of your body which will give instant results of the care you show it.

Yes at times it becomes difficult to adhere to a game plan when it comes to taking care of something. It is not necessary that you stick to a game plan which is of intensive skin care nature. However, by using small tips and tricks you can help to maintain your skin look pretty, healthy and young.

1. Avoiding the sun

We all have to face the deadly sun rays in the course of our daily work. The sun rays comprise of ultraviolet rays. These are extremely harmful for your skin. Staying in contact with the sun rays will only assist your skin in aging faster than you can age.

Extended exposure in the sun gives you wrinkles, spots, freckles, age spots, dry skin and other such problems associated with your skin. When going out in the sun, try to always keep your face covered. No matter for how long you will be under the sun, try to minimize the amount of exposure you face will be getting in the sun.

It is also a good idea to try and avoid the sun during the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. It is during this time, the sun rays are at their worst when it comes to your skin. You can always use a hat to help cover your face. It is always a wise decision to wear clothes which keep you cool. This will help in minimizing the heat which will travel to your face.

Another thing which is very important when going out in the sun is the use of sunscreen. There is no harm is applying sunscreen generously to your face, neck and hands; if you feel the need. The trick when applying sunscreen is that it should be applied half an hour before you go out in the sun. This is so that the cream is absorbed by the skin and able to do the work properly. Sunscreen should be re-applied every two hours, if you are doing work which makes you sweat

2. Smoking is hazardous to skin health

It is known fact that people who smoke age faster and not in a good way. Smoking is one of the major causes of skin aging and damage. What smoking does is, it minimizes the amount of blood which flows to your skin. This happens because the small blood vessels are made smaller by the act of smoking.

When the skin is deprived of the proper amount of blood, it does not receive the right amount of vitamin A and oxygen it needs to stay healthy and young. Smoking also affects the components which keep the skin strong and elastic.

The two components are collagen and elastin; these two fibers play an important role in keeping the skin healthy and young for a longer time. This might sound trivial as compared to the above mentioned information, but you also get wrinkles from the act of smoking, just by pursing your lips in the motion of inhaling a cigarette. So there is no worse treatment for your skin then the act of smoking. It should be quit as soon as you can manage it.

3. Treating your skin with kindness

Our skin is a very delicate thing. It needs to be handled with care and love. Everything we do has a positive or a negative effect on our skin. When taking a bath, try to shower in lower temperature water. When you take a bath in warm or hot water, the skin is robbed of the natural essential oils which are found on it. This causes the skin to become dry and damaged.

Dry water also opens the pores on the skin, this makes the skin more prone to damage and acne. Another thing which has an adverse effect on the skin are the different scented and perfumed soaps, cleansers, and face washes used in our daily routine. Try and use products which are mild to the skin.

This will help to maintain the softness of your skin for a longer time. Never try to shave yourself without the use of a shaving cream. Using a shaving cream allows you to protect your skin from cuts and skin damage. Another precaution to be taken while shaving is to shave in the direction the hair is growing and never the other way. Another thing to keep in mind is that try to air dry or blot the water from your skin, instead of rubbing it. This will help keep it soft.

4. Your skin and your diet

You may have heard, you are what you eat. This is a very true saying. Whatever you eat instantly transforms the look of your skin. Good food is always a bonus when taking care of your skin. Things like fruit and vegetable help to keep skin shiny and fresh looking.

There is no denying that good food always shows when eaten. Oily and fatty foods may lead to acne and other skin problems. Try to take fruits which are rich in vitamin A and C. these two are wonderful for the health of your skin.

5. Kill your stress

Any stress in your life automatically shows on your face. It is the same as when you eat healthy foods. People who lead stressful lives tend to have more wrinkles on their faces than people who lead relaxed lives. It is always important to keep a positive outlook on your life. Otherwise the negativity starts to show on the face. This leads to your face looking tired and aged.
