Drinking water is one of the things that you should be doing everyday - if you're not then chances are you won't be doing that for very long! It is claimed however that drinking water is a great way to reduce the appearance and intensity of acne scars. Of course then, we're talking about the quantity of water that you should be drinking, not that you should be drinking water (or not) in the first place!
Does drinking water help acne scars? Yes, it does. To an extent. Let's look at how far drinking water will get you. Drinking water is a proven way of flushing toxins out of the body. Once the essentials have been taken care of (giving the benefits of water to various organs etc) and then the important don't-touch-those toxins have been removed, the body can then direct water and the goodness that it to the parts that don't normally benefit. Like your acne scars. This is a reason why health people more focussed on natural solutions will tell you that the first thing you need to do is to increase your water intake. You just need water, and drinking more will help with a multitude of issues and problems.
Sorry, but the body simply doesn't care without the nutrients and the water that it needs. If it's not getting enough, why should it focus on something that's purely cosmetic? It doesn't help you to live. Oh, if only there were a way to tell the body exactly what you wanted it to do and heal!
Well, by increasing your daily intake of water you will help to flush the toxins and help your body and skin to heal. You encourage new skin to grow faster and better and you will find that more drinking water not only leads to better skin, but it also leads to a vastly more healthy body - that's a really good thing to have. And it's free to do! Water is thankfully free in most parts of the world, and even if you do have to drink bottled water, then the price of that is fairly manageable. Or go and live in a city with pure drinking water (like Christchurch, New Zealand. You just have to put up with earthquakes).
However, drinking water on its own will probably not be enough to completely get rid of some acne scars. You will need to attack the acne scarring from all directions - via more water, by exfoliation, by natural oils and creams that help to moisturize the scarring. Put simply - there are a lot of ways you need to consider. That's the one issue with natural solutions, one thing is not a full solution on its own. You need many options and many things working together to get the results that you want.
Does drinking water help acne scars? Yes. The simple act of drinking water will often help enormously. Give yourself enough of what your body wants and needs - water - and you will be amazed at what your body can do to heal itself.
