You will need to make sure that before you try any honey mask on your face, you need to make sure your neck and face are cleaned with some water. This will remove any types of lotions, cosmetics or creams that you have put on your face prior to this. You can use a non abrasive and non aggressive soap to do that too, if you choose to not use just water.
Gently pat dry your freshly washed skin. You could even take a nice hot shower, that will help in opening up the pores, which would help in cleaning the skin as well. Having a steam bath will have the same effect. Place a towel under your neck and behind your head and lay down once you have applied your honey mask.
You will need to protect your eyes, so you could place cucumber slices on them or 2 chamomile teabags which have been steeped and are cooled down. You can also use some cotton balls that have been soaked in rose or lavender water for over your eyes.
