Natural Skin Care Ingredients

So you want to make your own natural skin care products? Well look no further then your kitchen or pantry! You probably already have the ingredients to make or atleast have a good base for cleaners, lotions and masks and you dont even have to go to the local drug store.

So what are the 5 main natural skin care ingredients for fabulous looking skin?

1. Honey. Honey is not just for the bees. Honey is a natural moisturizer or humectant. Humectants are also found in hair conditioners and body lotions. Try this for a simple skin lotion, mix a teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil and 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply on your skin and after 10 minutes wipe off. You will be amazed at the results.

2. Olive Oil. Popeye knew what he was talking about. Olive oil is loaded with antioxidants and vitamin E which is another great moisturizer. Great for nails by soaking in a cup for a home manicure. By applying to hair and letting sit for about half an hour and then shampooing you will have rich silky smooth head of hair. Of course olive oil is great for dry hands and feet.

3. Sugar. Not just for baking cakes anymore. Due to the rough texture of sugar because of the glycolic acid makes for a perfect exfoliating cream for healthy skin. By mixing 2 tablespoons of whole milk or cream, 1/2 cups of sugar, one cup of olive oil and 5 drops of orange oil you will have enough for the whole body. After 15 minutes wipe off, don't eat it.

4. Eggs. Eggs have always been known to be good for hair. To make your own shampoo, try 1 tbs of lemon juice, 1 oz of olive oil and and 1/2 tsp of apple cider vinegar and for the conditioner mix 1 tsp of baby oil, 1 egg yolk and 1 cup of water.

Fruits and Veggies. Not only good for your health but they are excellent for your skin too. By checking online you can find different recipes for the various minerals, vitamins and scents of certain foods. Avocados are an excellent source of vitamin E. High in antioxidants and beta carotene are carrots. For quick energy boost try ginger. Strawberries are very versatile in that they aid in promoting a fight against tooth decay, acne and even cancer.

So give these suggestions a try and see for yourself if these 5 skin care ingredients wont help you achieve healthy looking skin.
