Natural Treatment for Angioedema

Are you tired of your doctor prescribing more and more drugs? Maybe a natural treatment for angioedema is the right approach for you.

Angioedema is generally an ongoing ailment with one attack after the other so getting the right balanced treatment can make a huge difference to living with it.

Usually affecting the throat, lips and tongue it can also attack the hands, feet and genitals but can turn up anywhere on the body. This is usually followed by an attack of urticaria more commonly known as hives which attacks the upper layers of the skin and appears as red welts that are itchy and painful. Where as angioedema is the rapid swelling of the dermis, murcosa, submucosa tissues or generally speaking the lower layers of the skin and can also cause itchiness but also tremendous pain. Outbreaks in adolescents and infants are usually caused by insects bites.

Unlike urticaria an attack of facial angioedema can be life threatening especially as excessive swelling of the tongue and throat can reduce airflow and lead to complications including suffocation in severe cases, and so medical assisitance should be sort immediatly if there is a problem with breathing or shortness of breath.

Angioedema outbreaks can last for as little as 4 hours or up to a week so getting the right sort of treatment is paramount in controlling the frequency and duration of these attacks.

Doctors generally treat the condition with antihistamines and steroids but with this comes its own problems with side effects which can be as unpleasant and dangerous as the angioedema its self. There is a current movement towards natural treatments concentrating on diet, lifestyle, exercise and alternative remedies.

Here are a few natural remedies.

Vitamins

Vitamin C helps to lower histamine levels and is essential for a healthy immune system.

Vitamin B12 has been found to reduce severity and frequency of outbreaks.

Vitamin B Complex when taken with Vitamin C can help reduce stress levels that can bring on an attack.

There are lots of natural treatments for Angioedema on the market and finding the right one for you and getting the balance back into your life is the key for many people to manage their condition and lead a fuller happier life.
