Due to the availability of over the counter drugs used for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment, a lot of people now run to their local pharmacies, buy the products and begin using them without first considering the important things.
However, when they do not see results immediately, they begin to complain that the treatments do not work when in actual fact they forgot to consider the most important things. This article aims to discuss what you must do before you begin a post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment.
To be able to obtain quick and lasting results from your Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Treatment, you must follow the right order. What is this right order you ask?
Every dermatologist who knows his worth will tell you to do these 2 basic things before you begin to use any over the counter or prescribed treatment for your hyperpigmentation scars. From my years of dealing with hyperpigmentation, I will say you must incorporate these 2 basic steps into your hyperpigmentation treatment if you want maximum results.
First basic step towards a successful post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment is to find out why you have hyperpigmentation in the first place. What is causing your skin to become hyperpigmented? If you can answer this correctly, then you should find a solution to treat this root cause and hopefully eradicate any future reoccurrence of hyperpigmentation. Following through with this basic step will ensure that any post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment you choose will work better for you.
Once you begin tackling the primary cause of hyperpigmentation, you should go get a very good sun screen/ sun block with at least a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. Use the sun screen daily applying liberally on the hyperpigmented area and any other area not covered with clothing. The use of the sun screen will ensure that the hyperpigmentation scars on your skin do not get darker from exposure to the sun because the darker they get the more difficult they are to respond to treatment.
Only when you have addressed the issues highlighted above can you then begin post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment with confidence because then the fear of re-infection and further darkening of the scars would have been brought to a minimum.
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment requires patience because the scars take time to fade completely and more so in people with darker skin tones that can have the scars appear as brown or even black. By following the important steps highlighted above and with the right treatment for hyperpigmentation, you can be rest assured that complete healing and a beautiful even-toned skin is only a few weeks away.
Thanks Cynthia! Good to know you found it useful and Thank you for adding the purple colour. The tip about using the ice cold water seems a good one. I wonder, do I hold up the bottle with cold water onto my cheek where the spots are or do I drink the water and leave it for a minute or two in my mouth? Not so sure how it works.
Chigozie, Useful information! Thank you. You left out a color. Purple! Rosacea leaves all kinds of stuff like that. It's the thing called, "Adult Acne" by many folks, except it's much more than that. Here's a summer remedy to go along with that SPF you suggested! It reduces the Purple and Red color splotches: Carry a bottle of frozen water Keep it in one of your hands! As it melts, keep drinking Hold ice cold water in cheeks blessings, Cynthia
