Prevent And Fade Stretch Marks With Cocoa Butter

Pregnancy is said to be the time a woman experiences the most happiness and joy in life above even the other happy times in her life. But for some women, beauty consciousness brings along its fears of developing stretch marks along. But fear not expecting mothers, there is no need to fret. In order to remove stretch marks as well as prevent these marks, you can use cocoa butter for stretch marks even during pregnancy.

The obvious question is, does cocoa butter remove these annoying marks ? Cocoa butter works to fade marks and as a butter, it makes them less visible in appearance. It's a great home remedy to use for those worried about using too many chemicals on their bodies, it's also a great emollient and moisturizer for very dry skin. Remember that the more dry your skin is, the higher the risk and likelihood that you will develop these lines on your skin.

What causes stretch marks?

The marks themselves are caused mainly by the sudden and unexpected expansion of the skin, the growth results in the damaged collagen protein and this is what leaves behind the scars from the torn collagen tissue. The marks start off as being pink or a light purple coloring and after time has passed can turn into a gray/silver color.

Puberty can also be a time when people develop such marks on their skin because of the sudden growth spurt accompanied with sudden changes in weight whether it's weight gain or weight loss. Research studies have shown that over 90% of women will get stretch marks during the course of their lives, whether its from puberty or pregnancy. The marks all range in severity from mild, moderate to severe, hereditary factors also come into play, so if your mother or sister developed these marks during pregnancy, chance are, that you are more than prone to also get them.

Cocoa butter is one of the best preventative products you can use in order to make sure that you limit your likelihood to develop these marks. It's also among the best natural option when compared to all the other remedies.

Cocoa Butter as a Healer

Dry skin is much more prone to developing tears in its collagen tissue, however if you make sure to keep your skin well moisturized and supple, it will have more elasticity and therefore avoid developing marks altogether. Cocoa butter is also very well known for its natural antioxidants and its rich moisturizing properties. It's found in its natural solid state while at room temperature, however due to its low melting point, it melts once applied to the skin.

Even though using cocoa butter will not completely remove the stretch marks you have, it will reduce the appearance of these marks to a great extent, while giving your skin a silky smooth and soft finish. Pure cocoa butter can help those with extremely sun damaged skin and dry flaky rough textured skin by soothing, repairing and moisturizing such skin.

How to Apply Cocoa Butter

You can store cocoa butter in a warm room so that it achieves the buttery consistency that you want but not completely melted. Apply it at least 3-4 times on a regular basis to the affected areas. Start using this butter very early on in the early stages of pregnancy since it will help to lessen the possibility of collagen tissue breakage and this will prevent stretch marks from developing.

Take a small amount of butter and rub it in circular motions over the thighs, belly, breasts, arms and buttocks and anywhere else you have these annoying lines. Feel free to use cocoa butter even during pregnancy since it really has no side effects and doesn't contain harmful chemicals and additives and offers the extra added ingredients that will help to fade stretch marks.
