The Benefits Of Using Lavender Oil for Acne Scars

Lavender oil is perhaps one of the most deliciously scented things around - and add to that it's a truly excellent solution to acne scars. Many people have seen great successes with lavender oil and acne scars so if you're keen to heal your acne scars naturally then trying lavender oil is going to be something that you'll be wanting to try. Let's take a look at some benefits of using lavender oil on your acne scars.

It Moisturizes!

I'm sure that you know as well as I do the purpose of moisturizer. It's to soften and lighten the skin and this is definitely something that we want to achieve when trying to clear acne scars. The softer and the lighter the skin, the better the results will be in the end. So lavender oil is a highly effective natural solution to this - even a small amount will make your skin look and feel much softer and much smoother. Most people who lave tried lavender oil have noticed this.

It Rejuvenates!

Lavender oil (like most other essential oils) is a highly concentrated blend of natural goodness that can stimulate the skin to repair itself. Your skin is actually repairing itself every night when you go to sleep, but it can always use a helping hand. Lavender oil is a very effective way of helping to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and repairing the skin.

It Smells!

This is either a positive or a negative depending on your nose. Lavender oil has a very strong scent and it's just at that point where you'll either love the smell or hate the smell. If you find that you hate the smell then perhaps you might want to use another essential oil, or just learn to like it. If you apply the oil before you go to bed you'll also fall asleep faster - I find that it's a great oil to place on the pillow if I'm suffering from sleeping difficulties - it works really well in this respect.

It Stings!

Like many natural products that you apply to your skin, lavender oil will sting a bit when you put it on for the first time - it is very strong. If you currently have acne you might want to reduce the amount of oil you put on the skin or perhaps you might want dilute it with some water. Or just avoid the sections with acne on them.

Now like all natural remedies, lavender isn't guaranteed to remove the scarring. It will either work for you, or it won't. But the only way to find out if you're one of the ones that it does work for you is to give it a go for at least a month (once a day treatment) for the best results. If it doesn't work for you, at least there are other essential oils for acne scars that you can try. Now get healing!
