When it comes to our skin, some of us have more of an issue than others. Some people are concerned about cellulite, whereas others it’s anti aging creams they’ll use for wrinkle prevention.
Myself…I’m content with a bit of Nivea for Men. With two dogs, accidents happen and it’s usually me that ends up with a scratch or two. Not to mention the scratches I give myself with carelessness.
My partner on the other hand…weight obsessive. Diet pills galore with that one.
It’s something I try my hardest to understand. Why it is that our bodies get into the shape they do. So many people can take control and get the physique their after, and other drain their wallets and purses trying to accomplish their goals.
The more I research into it, the more lists I find that indicate the right nutrition that can help treat any type of skin condition. Whether it’s dimples or wrinkles, the foods we eat can make a drastic and lasting impression on the appearance of our skin.
Like this first food I want to tell you about:
1) Broccoli
It’s so much more than the annoying vegetable that used to be forced on us in our younger years. It’s actually supposed to be one of the best skin foods you’ll find.
Here’s why…
• It has Vitamin A
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin K
It's an antioxidant that supports the production of collagen. On top of that, you have the benefits of vitamin K. For myself that's helpful for the dark skin under the eyes. That's my work though. Not my diet. Not that I'm bragging that I've a great metabolic rate and don't have to worry about fat cells etc. I get it in the neck for that all the time. One thing's for sure though....If you're trying to get rid of cellulite or any other skin infliction, you're sure to come across the dark eye problem sometime.
Broccoli is the solution to get rid of that.
2) Then there's lettuce
According to the experts on nutrition, just six lettuces leaves a day gives you all the Vitamin A you’ll need for healthy skin.
If you don’t know about Vitamin A, it’s a stimulant that helps skin cell turnover. The oxygen that comes from lettuce, helps you to strengthen your connective tissues. Weakening of these is a cause of cellulite and dimple appearances. The lack of oxygen to your skin cells will also contribute to wrinkle appearance.
Since that’s such a strong issue for most, just six leaves of lettuce a day isn’t too much.
3) Blueberry benefits for skin cells
The blueberry is probably THEE most effective fruit you can have in your diet. It’s packed full of Vitamin C and E. It’s also got fibre and riboflavin too.
Nutritional experts claim the blueberry is the most powerful antioxidant food you can have in your diet. It destroys the free radicals that destroy your skin cells causing the problem. Blueberries are the weapon of choice to obliterate that issue.
That’s just 3 of the best nutritional sources. There’s plenty of others you can look into but those are the best foods for you to start with.
No point chucking a list of 50 foods in your direction, when you can’t fit them all onto the one plate. You could try but you’d wind up with more skin problems, stretch marks and dimples that surgery would probably struggle to repair. So keep it simple with those 3 foods and see what a difference they’ll make on your skin appearance.
If you’ve tried any before…fess up below. Was it for wrinkles or dimples and how did you make it work?
nice article robbie.... my skin cops a flogging at work standing outside in the blazing sun, reflecting off the bitumen and in winter its the cold wind, any ideas for me apart from putting on sun screen with a trowell!
Couldn't handle roadworks Dave. I'd have heat stroke before the first break. Plus a slandering from the other guys for the old-fashioned Jesus sandals, worn shamelessly with no socks. Unless the supervisor was on site and I'd be rigged up on the steel toe-cappers that'd make it worse. Only thing that springs to mind is the baseball cap to give a bit of shade. Winter winds, being Scottish I know about that. Polo necks, although not exactly stylish, they work a treat. Hot and cold temps dry my skin something chronic. I'm a huge fan of Nivea. Deodorants, shave gel, aftershave balm, shower gel, and the cream, (I will admit, I do use it.) It's not just for the women. ;) For me I find it a bit like that clearasil stuff. I used to have cold sores anytime the weather suddenly changed. Nivea stopped that. Suppose you could say I'm a bit of a Nivea freak! lol. Whatever works and does the trick. What I'd be doing for the work front is pushing for as much work on the plant machinery, since most of those have cabs, or at least a roof over the top of them, and I'd drag the job out as long as possible so I didn't have to come off the roller, excavator or whatever machine I'd sneak my way onto. I'd be looking for the newest crew member and getting them to do the disc cutting, while I took shelter. You'll be glad I'm not on your crew. lol
