5 Step Guide to Stop Snoring Naturally

Snoring is a big problem, actually bigger than you would normally think it is. Did you know that snoring could lead to heart disease and brain damage? Well it definitely can, so today I bring to you a simple but effective way to stop snoring naturally. I will go over 5 steps to end this horrible abomination we call snoring. Hopefully by the end of this article, you will have your solution.

  • Stay Well Hydrated

1. Losing Weight

Snoring usually occurs with people that are obese or overweight, (Fun Fact) 68.8% of the American population is either overweight or obese. Crazy Right!? So head over to your local gym and start losing those pounds, the hardest part of working out is the actually beginning. (Trust me!) Force your self to at least get inside of the gym building and the rest will take its toll. Start slow and work your way up, even 20 minutes a day is a good start. (I know you all can do it!)

2. Avoid Alcohol

Honestly I would have never have thought alcohol could have a big effect on one's snoring. So, I did some research on this and I would blown away by the results. Alcohol and other sedatives weaken the muscles in the back of your throat, making it more likely you'll snore. If you drink alcohol four to five hours prior to gong to bed, that could be making your snoring even worse. People who did not snore prior to drinking alcohol report that their snoring went away as they stopped drinking before they go to sleep.

3. Change Sleep Position

This a small solution for a big problem, Lying on your backside makes the base of your tongue fall to the back of your esophagus (Throat). The solution to this is just turn on your side while you sleep. simple as that, if you cant stay on your side, try to prop yourself up with a few pillows on the side of your until you get used to it.

4. Open Nasal Passages

Now this is where it gets kinda tricky. So if you might have not known, snoring often begins in your nose for some people. You must open up and keep open your nasal passages if you want to get rid of your snoring. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. Imagine a really narrow garden hose with water flowing through, the wider the diameter of the hose, the faster the water flows through it.Your nasal passages works somewhat like that. If there is something in your nose that is clogging it; perhaps a cold or other blockage, the fast moving air is much more likely to cause a noise.

How to Fix this Problem?According to a few Doctors reports I have acquired,They state that a hot shower before bed can help open up the nasal passage.They also recommend keeping a bottle of saltwater to rinse out your nose while you are showering to help open up the nasal passages. (I have never tried that solution quite yet, but what the Doctor says goes.) But If you are like me and like to do things the easiest way possible, you could go to Walmart and pick up a pack or nasal strips. If this works you can stop snoring at night right away.

5. Stay Well Hydrated

Staying well hydrated is another easy route to solve this problem. Research shows that secretions in your nose and soft palate become stickier when you're dehydrated. In simpler words, that means, your throat gets sticky. Making air flow harder for you, which leads to snoring. For you Females out there, the Doctor recommends 11 cups of water a day to stay healthy and prevent snoring. For you Men out there, the Doctor recommends 16 cups of water to stay healthy and prevent snoring as well.
