Once on their side, most snorers will stop. The trick is re-training yourself to sleep on your side as opposed to your back.

We all know that smoking is bad for you, but in addition to the many health issues caused by smoking, it can also contribute to snoring. It is believed that smoking causes snoring by the nicotine withdrawals that you go through each evening. These withdrawals cause disruptions in your sleep as well as upper airway obstructions. The obvious way to avoid this would be to quit smoking as soon as possible. If you drink alcohol, you can help to cut down on the amount of alcohol you consume. You don’t have to eliminate alcohol entirely, but you want you want to make sure you don’t drink right before bed and don’t over indulge to the point of becoming intoxicated. This is particularly true if you are over weight or like to sleep on your back.
