Hello, how are you doing. Welcome to my article. I hope that you enjoy and find good use to what I have written here. If you are someone who snores, no matter how small or bad it is, you should pay attention. Depending on your situation, snoring cause major health complications you couldn't fathom. These range anywhere from Obstructive Sleep Apnea syndrome to life threatening cardiovascular diseases. I hope that got your attention, because this is no joke. Start taking notes while I explain.
How bad is your snoring? Believe it or not, all snoring is not created equal. Some are more annoying than others, while some are more deadly than others. What level snorer are you?
- Minor Snorer - You snore every once in a while out of the blue. Your snoring does not occur bad enough to be considered a problem, and it has no patterns.
- Mild Snorer - You snore once or twice a week. You snore for several hours at a time, your snoring can come and go throughout the night, but it is not bad enough that it cant be fixed with a change in sleeping position.
- Regular Snorer - You snore m
- ost days out of the week (4-6) days. You snore for several hours at a time, and your snoring can not be fixed with regular home remedies. You get complaints from your sleeping partner plenty of times.
- Severe Snorer - You snore loud and clear every time you close your eyes. You can cause a major disturbance to those around you particularly your sleeping partner.
Health risks associated with your snoring.
Stroke and Heart Diseases. As shocking as it sounds, it is very true. Snoring makes your chances of getting a stroke or heart disease much higher. A research done by Marta Novak, (M.D P.H.D) shows that snoring patients have a 34% higher chance of a heart attack. Not only that, but snorers also have a 67% chance of getting heat disease.
Sleep Apnea caused by snoring highly increases your chance of death. Johns Hopkins University released a research that shows that people with severe sleeping disorders have a 46% higher chance for an early death. Naresh Punjabi and his colleagues at Hopkins found that snoring is linked with issues like high B.P, heart failure, stroke, and obesity. These risks don't get any better with age either. 40-70 year old who have a sleeping disorder are 2 times more likely to die from any cause than their counterparts who sleep quietly.
Treatment options. Depending on how bad your snoring problem is, here are some ways to stop snoring.
- Anti snore pillows (Minor to Mild)
- Tongue Guards (Minor to regular)
- Mouth Guard (Minor to severe)
- Surgery (Severe snoring, severe Sleep Apnea)
Well that is it. I definitely hope you found the answer to your snoring problem, or got a better idea of what it is. If you are a regular or severe snorer, I suggest you try a stop snoring mouthpiece before you consider surgery. It might save you a lot of money, and keep you from going under the knife for no reason. With that, I conclude my article. I wish you good luck with your quest.
