The Beginners Guide    -    How to Stop Snoring

For all of you out there wondering how to stop this horrible curse we humans call snoring, hop aboard to the S.S. "Beginner's guide to stop snoring " train and hang on tight because this is going to be a rough ride! Let us begin by really looking deep into the word "snoring and asking some simple but important questions like: how do I stop snoring, why do I snore, can snoring harm or even kill me? All of those questions are thrown at me everyday, so let me nip those in the bud right now.

1. Why do I snore? - Snoring is caused by a list of factors. (I will list a few)

  • Over-eating
  • Nasal Stuffiness
  • Lack of Exercise
  • Alcohol and sleep pills
  • Allergy
  • Tongue Base
  • Sleeping Position

2. Can Snoring harm or even kill me? - The answer to this question is "Yes"!

Crazy to believe this, but it is reality. Several Dental Surgeons report that they have uncovered why snoring can kill people. It starts by causing damage to your arteries. Dr. Arthur Friedlander explains that when people who have sleep apnea caused by snoring sleep, their tongue sags and collapses in to the back of their throat. This blocks a person's airway and can cause for breathing to be difficult or even stop at times. When a person struggles to breath, this can cause for their blood pressure to rise dangerously. Doctor's believe that this rise in blood pressure damages the carotid arteries' inner walls which are lining the sides of the neck. Dr. Friedlander adds that cholesterol and calcium stick to the damage sites and amass into calcified plaques. Which in turn block blood flow to the brain. The results can often be a stroke, brain damage, and other cardiac complications. It is hard to believe that such a small but obnoxious habit can cause such severe damage, but it is true. I hope this got your attention, because this problem is not to be taken lightly.

3. How Do I stop Snoring? - There are multiple answers to this questions, so i'm just going to get to the most effective ones.

  • Changing the Way you sleep - This is one of the easiest ways to solve your snoring problem.This solution will only work with a few individuals. If you are someone who sleeps on their back, you will want to switch to your sides. If this does not work for you it means your problem is greater.
  • Losing Weight -This is a common problem we Americans face.Just by losing some weight could get rid of this serious problem for good! Let me explain how being over-weight can cause snoring.When weight is gained a lot goes to your neck, the fat in the neck will squeeze the internal diameter of the throat. Which all leads up to snoring and the lose of oxygen to the brain. Brain damage is caused when not the right amount of oxygen is led to the brain.
  • Stop Drinking Alcohol - Yes, Stop drinking!Let me explain to you how Drinking Alcohol can cause the deadly thing we call snoring.
