If you are feeling your whole self or run down a lot then you may want to look into your sleeping habits. Poor sleep can have an effect on many things, including your health and wellbeing.
There are many things that can influence your sleep, such as your career, stress, and even illness.
And while it may be difficult to keep some of these things under control, there are a few routines you can adopt the will go a long way towards helping you get a better sleep.

Diet can play a huge role in almost everything, but it is especially important in regards to sleep. Aim to eat an adequate amount – not too little and not too much – of food throughout the day. Being too hungry or full can make it make it harder to get to sleep and may result in a lot of tossing/turning.
More importantly, avoid stimulants like coffee and cigarettes. In addition to keeping you up later, they are highly disruptive to your sleeping patterns.
2. Set a schedule
One of the best things you can do to ensure that you get a good night sleep is always go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Your body runs off a cycle, and it is important to stick to this as closely as possible.
If you have difficulty falling asleep it is advisable to do something relaxing like reading a book.

There are many studies that suggest that you should now work in the same room that you sleep in, as this can influence you psychologically which will cause you to lose sleep. Also, ensure that your room environment is one that is conducive to a good night sleep – things like room temperature, ambient noise, and even the mattress that you sleep on are important things to consider.
4. Exercise Daily
There are countless studies that show that exercising not only benefits your overall health, but it helps you sleep better too. People who are more physically active will fall asleep quicker and will also sleep much better than someone who is not.
The only downside to this is that you have to be careful not to exercise too close to your bedtime, as this will cause you to be too energized and you will be unable to get to sleep at a reasonable time.
5. Invest In A Sleep Monitoring System
There are many emerging devices that are able to quantify your sleeping patterns and break them down into different levels such as REM, light, and deep sleep. These devices can also give you tips and monitor your room environment to help you get a better night’s sleep.
