Wake Up Lamp, My New Favorite Thing!

Waking up is something that most of us find very hard, and not very comfortable either. It does not make it better when you wake up to an extremely loud and annoying beep that never seems to stop. That is something that Philips (and other companies as well) have found a solution to, or at least made easier and more comfortable, So how did they do it? With help from the National Sleep Foundation they made a revolutionary new alarm clock , a wake up lamp that wakes you up with a combination of light and natural sounds like waves, African jungle, and birds.

How Does it work? A Wake up lamp works by makes your mornings easier in a variety of ways, but the primary thing that it does, is that the light starts to glow BEFORE you wake up, it starts with a very low intensity light that is designed to start your brain`s production of a hormone called Cortisol, which is also called the Energy hormones, the level of this in your brain is regulating how energized you feel. As the light get brighter and brighter in the 30 minute time before you wake up, your energy level is increasing aswell, When the wake up lamp is at its brightest, it also starts to gradually increase the sound of your choice, which can be anything from a natural sound, to a Beep sound, or your favourite FM radio station, you usually wake up when the sound starts, and the volume increase, at least that is how i wake up with my wake up lamp.

Why would you buy one? There are many reasons to buy a wake up lamp Both for your mental health , physical health, and general well being, i am not saying that it has a huge impact in your mental or physical health, But it is actually proven that wake up lamps can be a treatment for Seasonal Affective disorder (A Depression caused by lack of light, That usually happens in the northern part of the hemisphere, in the winter months). When it comes to your well being i can honestly say that it is a fantastic feeling, when i wake up energized with a room that is already lit up, and an alarm noise that is actually not irritating, after i got my wake up lamp i have felt a lot more energized and i have a much easier morning, i can actually eat breakfast every day now =)

Conclusion: The wake up lamp is working for me, by making my morning easier,and making me feel more energized in the morning.
