Marketing Your Small Business Online

Are you one of those Small Business Owners that think Online Marketing is strictly for Big Businesses? Or do you believe that your business is not the right kind of business for online marketing? If you answered yes to either question, pay close attention here...Online Marketing...is for EVERY business! Literally that means anyone with a business can market online.

Now with that being said, I'd like to discuss one particular business as an example. A friend of mine named Toan(reads like Juan with a T), owns a convenience store in the city of Worcester Ma. Toan actually believes that online marketing can not be done for a convenience store.

So here's what I told him, and the same goes for all small businesses....When thinking of marketing your business online....you simply want to find out who your shoppers are: it's called demographics, from there you want to find out: where are they likely to be at online, then go there with your message. Sounds easy right!?! It is easy:)

Online Marketing Tips

Here are a couple of specifics for Toans convenience store: Since his store is located smack dab in the middle of two colleges, he should focus on getting more college students in his store. Where is he likely to find them at online? For starters...Facebook and Youtube would be great places for him to set up accounts; then when the college students students come in, tell them of his FB page and Youtube channel so they can join. Their reason/s for joining could be to get store discounts, stay up to date on new products, or he could even hold a contest where the prize is a certain percentage off, of slow moving goods.

Toan could even set up a blog, then invite those that spend in his store to subscribe to his blog for discounts and specials. Once he did that, he'd have a...LIST OF BUYERS...to email anytime, especially when business is slow.

Remember The Basics

Is there more that Toan and other Small Business Owners can do to market their small business online? Absolutely a whole lot more! But if it's not needed, why bother!?!

The thing to remember is simply find out who your shoppers are, where are they likely to be online, then take your message to them.
