Many people were labeling this season as the last season of John Terry but they it seems like Terry has few years left in him. In a recent statement he admitted that he is looking forward to extend his contract with the Blues.
Unluckily, his last two fixtures were spoiled because of the suspension he had to face because of some non-sense fouls at Sunderland. Now his contract is expired once he was the most reliable player of the club and now there are doubts that whether he will get a new contract or he will play in any low league.
"I still want to play for a couple more years, hopefully at Chelsea," Terry said in an interview which was aired on Danish club Brondby's YouTube channel. Terry is a friend of Brondby owner Jan Bech Andersen.
"I'm a Chelsea player and Chelsea's been my club from the age of 14. I love Chelsea."
Terry made his debut back in 1998 since then he has appeared in 703 matches in which he captained the side in 500 matches. Terry is in love with Chelsea he used to hire Stamford Bridge even for a match with his friends, Chelsea usually charge £22,000 for hiring the ground but for Terry it is totally free, but still they cannot payback Terry for the services that has been providing for almost last two decades.
We understand there has been significant interest from a variety of locations both at home and overseas to sign Terry but that he will not make a decision over his future until the end of the season.
It has been reported that Terry would not be able to command a high salary in the MLS because there are no designated player slots available in the league.
Many people are saying that if there were Jose Mourinho the things would have been different. Everyone has seen the disastrous form of Chelsea in the beginning of English Premier League and now they badly need someone to rely on.
There was a time when there was Drogba, Lampard, Cole and Terry, clubs were dying to buy their bond, thrown money, luxuries and protocols but still their love for Chelsea was much more than that. But then Drogba Left, Lampard left, Torres left, Anelka left and may be it is time for Terry, but there is no doubt that he was the most successful player in the history of Chelsea club.
