Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

Soccer is a universal sport, played in all the major cities of the world even though there are some subtle differences in the way that the game is played and even the name that is known by. Fans of the sport though are probably very interesting in learning how soccer is played around the world, particularly if they have a favorite player from one country or another. There are several ways to find the information that you would like to have, some more comprehensive than others.

Researching how soccer is played around the world can be done in several ways: by player, by team, by country and by variations on the game. If you are researching by player, you might have to dig through a lot of pages, especially if it is a very common name or if you do not have the full, complete name. for instance looking for a soccer player named Juan is going to take you to a long listing of the South American players while searching for a player named Sean will take you to a listing of the Irish football players.

You might be interested to research by team name, finding out that there are actually several teams that are known by that name- sometimes even in the same league system. If you do not know which league the team you are interested in, you may have to do a little more in depth research. Finally, you can do your research on how soccer is played around the world by country, however there are even some variations to this as well. You might even find that there are small leagues that play UK football in the United States, as well as leagues that align themselves as soccer teams. They may even play in the same city, depending on its size.

Soccer is played by more people than any other sport, has the most fans and the fiercest loyalties as well. It is a simple sport, without expensive equipment making it more attractive to even smaller nations and areas that cannot afford other types of sports. Even little children are interested in the sport itself and may be willing to learn how soccer is played around the world as well. In so doing, they may be learning far more about the world around them and other cultures than they would ever simply by reading their history books.

It is not vital that you learn how soccer is played around the world as just a casual observer of the game, of course, but once you start developing a real passion for the sport you might want to know everything that you can possibly learn.

Reading about how soccer is played around the world can be very entertaining, even to those who are not as interested in sports as they are about learning about their fellow human beings. It is reassuring to read that others in distant countries are engaged in something that is so universal, so appealing as the game of soccer.
