Soccer Ball Sizes

Just as we have in other sports, the ability to pick any of the ideal soccer ball sizes is a critical thing. After all, it is a possible thing to have many soccer ball sizes. No doubt, you will need at least one of the soccer ball sizes to practice with-- whether you are coach for your child's team or you decide to join a team for a friendly competition. Apart from the fact that it's wise to do a sound research as regards the ideal stitching, brand and material to look out for, I think it is also a great idea to get used to the size recommendations before you settle for any of the soccer ball sizes.

In the first place, let me stress it here that you need to check with your league if there is any exact size you must use for your practice. I am saying this in spite of the fact that, there are many size as well as age standards-- because most teams do have set guidelines they stick to. Once you are ready to buy the ball, you can then go to a sporting goods store or soccer specialty store. You can choose from a variety of sizes, styles and prices. You can get your questions across to an experienced staff to put you through.

As I said earlier, there are many soccer ball sizes. The size 3 ball is ideal for an eight year old and younger. Weighing about 12 ounces, this size is about 23 to 24 inches around, and I think it is ideal if you ask me. For beginning youth leagues as well as pre-school to second grade, I advise you choose a smaller size of the ball. That way, the children can get to enjoy playing a good ball that's light enough and within their control!

For soccer players who are between 8 to 12 years, you can opt for the size 4 ball. This ball which is about 25- 26 inches in diameter can weigh up to 13 ounces. I strongly would recommend this mid-size ball as a good option for children who are from one to sixth grade. For those who are up to 13 years and adults alike, the size 5 soccer balls are the best! In line with the international league standards, I would expect a size 5 ball to range in weight from 14 to 16 ounces, with a circumference between 27 to 28 inches around.

Finally, I think it is great to buy a small ball size if you are thinking of having older children and adults practice their skills. I mean it is pretty easy to learn how to turn, dribble and juggle with a smaller ball than a larger ball. The smaller ball, either size 2 or 3 can help to boost agility and will greatly lead to proficiency with other soccer ball sizes. It is very important that you choose the perfect ball size that will enhance the sporting experience. So think wisely before you choose. Good luck!
