If you are a professional soccer player, and you have to play against Luis Suarez of Uruguay, you are in danger of being bitten by a rabid footballer. You do not want your fate to be that of Italy's Giorgio Chiellini and two others before him. Suarez was suspended for biting Otman Bakkal of PSV Eindhovin in 2010. Suarez was again suspended for biting Branislav Ivanovic of Chelsea F.C. in 2013.
Were two suspensions enough for Suarez to get the picture that biting other players is strongly frowned upon? Apparently not. The 2014 World Cup group stage match between Uruguay and Italy saw Suarez of Uruguay sink his teeth into Italian defender Chiellini's shoulder. A couple of seconds after the Italian went down in shock; Suarez clutched his head and also went down. The delay resembled the lag experienced when playing online video games with a poor internet connection.
The referee showed no response as Chiellini presented the bite marks and Suarez made sure his teeth were still in his mouth. Chiellini and the entire Italian squad were clearly flustered. Whether it had anything to do with the bite or not, Uruguay scored the game’s only goal just one minute after the incident. FIFA has not addressed the issue yet. Many soccer experts are certain that Suarez will not see another match in the 2014 World Cup.
However, Chiellini and some other skeptics don’t think Suarez will receive any penalization in the tournament because FIFA wants the “superstars” of soccer to be on display in the World Cup. If you play against Suarez, you need some protection. Sad as it is, kids are sometimes naive. Who is to say that some crazy kid won’t try to imitate Suarez’s opponent crippling tactic in a soccer game? Your kids need protection too.
This Suarez bite protection will keep those fangs from sinking into your skin, allowing you to keep scoring goals. OK, this is not actually bite protection. The company that makes this gear does not claim that it can withstand human bites, and they are in no way associated with Suarez, Chiellini, the World Cup, FIFA, or anything mentioned above. What they do is make body protection for soccer players. Breathable, durable, tough, yet flexible, comfortable under garments specifically designed to withstand the harshest of conditions in a soccer match. The technologically advanced foam padding protects you from impacts and abrasions, while ricking away sweat and conforming to your body.
We think that if this soccer body armor could keep you safe while slide tackling on rocks, it could probably withstand a Suarez bite. The fiber of this soccer body protection gear also helps guard infections from entering your body. In our books, that's a must when another player bites you.
