Carlos Tevez seems likely to ply his trade in Italy sooner or later as the three Italian giants are in competition for his signature. AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan have all showed interest in the Manchester City striker who has fallen out of grace with City boss Roberto Mancini. Tevez has not represented Manchester City since the infamous incident which was then thought to be a refusal to go on the pitch as a substitute against Bayern Munich in the champions league on the 27th of September. It has later emerged that he refused to warm up.
Backlash has been rife against Tevez who many saw his behaviour as childish and a disgrace to football with many calling for FIFA to take strict actions against him. Tevez has not toned down his antics as he recently flew to Argentina without approval of Manchester City and has refused to return citing that he is depressed. Though his valuation from a lofty 50 million pound value before the summer transfer window may have taken a significant hit due to recent events, Manchester City say they will refuse to let him go on the cheap. It was thought City would find it difficult to offload the striker who has a history of 'issues' coupled with his 200,000 pound per week salary but as the saying goes: "One man's garbage is another man's treasure" , in steps a trio of Italian clubs who feel they could handle the Tevez drama.
It shows that especially in the world of sport as so many times has been the case where a tremendously talented athlete no matter his behavioural problems or history will always have a team out there desperate enough to take them on. Inter have been struggling in the Italian serie A and feel they need a striker to offset the loss of Samuel E'to in the summer transfer window while AC Milan and Juventus who have made strong starts to the season will see this as opportunity to bolster their squads and hence their title challenge.
Will this gamble be worth it for whichever club manages to land him in the upcoming winter window or later summer transfer window? Only time will tell if this deal with the devil will prove a success and in the cases of these clubs trying to land him; this will be measured in goals scored and trophies lifted. At the momment, AC Milan seems the most likely to land this extremely talented yet troubled striker.
Yeah, that's a great picture of him. Totally reflects his actions.
I'm sure the Italians can do a better job of handling this guy. I've got a couple of Italian friends, and they all have "behavioral problems" despite being grown men/women (Italians from Italy, not Italian-Americans). It seems to be the norm.
