Senior Citizens Job Opportunities Using Facebook, Twitter And You Tube

You would be forgiven for thinking that when you reach retirement age, you are no longer any use to anyone in an employment sense. this is largely due to society making you believe that as soon as you reach retirement age, you are only fit for knitting, selling cookies or babysitting. However, in reality, their are lots of senior citizens job opportunities out their that can allow you to continue working into your retirement and earn good money.

In 2011, the number of those reaching the ripe old age of 65 and still finding themselves in full time employment was nearly doubled compared to the statistics over the last decade. The Office for National Statistics has indicated that there are over 270,000 senior citizens still employed in full time work. Their are also a large number of over 65's who are working part time jobs too.

The reality of the situation, is that the current financial climate is affecting the amount of money we have saved up for our retirement. It is a sad fact that having money invested in property and pensions is no longer a reliable source of income for your latter years.

Senior Citizens Job Opportunities From Home

Many over 65’s are moving away from the conventional job searching methods like visiting job centres and knocking on businesses doors with their resume for fear of rejection due to their age. Many are now turning to the "discrimination free Internet" where they can not only find and apply for full time and part time jobs online but they can also get started right away and work from the comfort of their own homes.

Senior citizens job opportunities on the Internet are the perfect solution for those finding themselves out of work in their golden years. They are able to contribute to society at their own pace and without even leaving their own home. They can work flexible hours so if they want to work just 1 - 2 hours a day that's fine but if they want to continue working a 40 hour week then that's fine too.

Senior Citizens Job Opportunities in Social Media

More and more of the older generation are engaging in social mediums such as Facebook, Twitter and You Tube. When they retire or even find themselves made redundant, they are left with an huge amount of spare time but also isolated. They no longer have a job to fill that void and previous professional relationships with clients and colleagues can fall by the way side. However, thanks to social media, over 65's can now remain connected with these people.

What many people don't realise is that there are lots of local businesses, multi-national companies and blue chip companies that need people to improve their social exposure online. They are willing to pay good money to anyone willing to work on online assignments and increase their marketing reach.

Big businesses are using Facebook, Twitter and You Tube in an attempt to gain more followers and fans but they just don't have the time to manage these social mediums themselves. They prefer to outsource this work and this is where over 65's can capitalise on this opportunity.

As the matter of fact, most of the senior citizen are living with fear of retairements, some will even back-dated their age for the purpose of retaining their job but if they actually realize on-line opportunities, they would be rest assured that there is better offer even after their retairement.

Completely agree Keith. I recently hired a 61 year old guy who after retiring, lost alot of his hard earned savings to a conman. As a result, he was forced into working again just to survive. The wealth of experience he has bought to the table is so valuable to me and my business

As one of those senior persons just starting out on the work trail I absolutley agree with your approach. What is really sad is that the experience base we all have accumulated is often let go or disregarded, and is a major loss to companies if only they realised it. (Topic of one of my next articles)!

I've already felt the pinch of being too old to compete in the job market...hey, I don't really want to anyway. But this is good food for thought. Now I'm wondering if I'm not old enough...LOL Can't wait for the senior discount on things like movie tickets!
