Reliving Your History Through the New Facebook Timeline

I am sure by now most of you social networking lovers have heard of the newest change on Facebook coming out in just weeks according to it's founder Mark Zuckerberg, Timeline. In the article above the author mentions the show "This is Your Life." Well unfortunately I am old enough to remember the show although I was only a child when it was on the old black and white. They had a guest come on the show usually someone famous and proceeded to have old friends, relatives come on stage to reminence about old times and things they remembered about the person. Sometimes it was old boyfriends they went to the Prom with, old pictures the guest forgot these people had, it was a fun show.

RELIVING YOUR HISTORY WITH TIMELINE

According to Mark Zuckerman founder of Facebook, you will be able to see the history of your life all in one place. The new Facebook Timeline according to the author and Mr. Zuckerberg will be out in a matter of weeks. Millions of people young and old have already built of somewhat of a history of their lives on Facebook from proms to holiday parties, even pity parties after a teen breakup. They have relationships, engagements to weddings even births of children. Now I prefer myself to keep some privates moments private I wouldn't relish having a streaming hour or hours of me giving birth but that is everyone's individualchoice. I do wish however that I had more than just some old photos and faded 8mmfilms of my beloved grandmother who died whenI was only 18. How I would love to see more of her beautiful smile and laughing face that went with her wonderful sense of old Yankee humor. I do like the break in the old tradition of dark gloomy funerals. We now are seeing people deciding instead to having "Celebrations of Life". Last year I attended a funeral of a dear elderly friend thathad passed away, she had grace, style and a wonderful quick wit. Her family did a wonderful job having her things nicely placed around the room old photos, favorite music, and painting she had done, even her bingo bag which was one of her hobbies. You could probably do the same with this software it's all up to you.

BE CAREFUL ON WHAT YOU DON'T WANT!

From what I am understanding fromthe author the older software is still functioning however the really old things are buriedand very hard if not impossible to find. Now with Timeline you will have a "grace period" in which to change settings for older entries but if you don't or forget to some things may come back to haunt you. The present husband or wife may discover the romantic evening you enjoyed and may have forgotten with an old boyfriend or girlfriend on a secluded beach or a wild party long forgotten. Or that awful haircut you thought was really cool!

OUT WITH THE OLD!

Americans today have lost much of their privacy since 911 unfortunately. Cameras everywhere in parking lots, storefronts, and busy streets. Some of it I feel is overkill like some of TSA's tactics but much of it is for our safety and if you are going to commit a crime or be intimate in public that is a choice you yourself have made. So build yourself your own "time capsule" and have fun, you decide what you what your history to befor your children and grandchildren silly, or warm since we are all human and have both good and embarassing moments it's after all your life.
