Would You Consider Going To Meet Your Facebook Friends?

Perhaps you, like millions of others out there, have joined Facebook. You might use this social network to play popular games, post links to articles that you have published, or chat with friends. Would you ever consider traveling to meet all of your Facebook friends? A trip like this would have several advantages.

First, rather than just connecting with names and faces online, you and your friends would actually get to see each other. Seeing each other in person would be great for close friends who have not seen each other for several years and finally reconnected on this social network. Seeing each other in person is not the only reason why you might want to go meet your Facebook friends, however.

Another reason to consider a trip like this is because it would allow you to see other parts of the country. You would also get to experience the food, people, and climate of those places. In addition to the advantages of a trip like this, there are also some disadvantages, however.

First, even if your Facebook friends were only in the United States, traveling to meet each one of them would be time-consuming. If you had a job, you would most likely have to leave it in order to follow through with your travel plans, since most jobs are not the kind that allow you to telecommute. You usually report to a physical worksite. If you cannot be there, you usually run into problems with your boss. If you have work that you can take with you on the road, however, such as a blog, your travels and the people you meet can give you new material to include in your writing. Time is not the only issue that you will be dealing with if you ever consider a trip like this, of course.

The other issue that you will have to face is expense. It would be very expensive to travel around the country. However, you can cut expenses if you cook your own food rather than eating at restaurants and travel in a motor home rather than staying at hotels.

I have the advantage that I know all of my Facebook friends. They are friends that I went to school with and members of my family. Since we already know each other, I would not need to travel to meet them. What about you? Would you want to go meet your Facebook friends?

Street Talk

That's a really good question. Would we want to actually meet them and, if not, why are we friends on FB? Are they friends for another reason...ie...to market to? Good article.

Good question. I think that some people on Facebook do try to find more friends on the site so that they can market to them. Thanks for reading! :)
