Accessing Facebook In Vietnam

Do you love Facebook? I sure do! I bet I go on it a dozen times a day to chat with a friend, post a note to my girlfriend or see what my favorite band is doing on their fan page! But I got some shocking news from one of my Facebook buddies that lives in Vietnam, he was having problems accessing Facebook in Vietnam because the government was messing with it all the time.

Even more of a shock was knowing that this had been going on for about two years off and on and he just hadn’t told me cause he was worried he’d get into trouble. Wow. I guess I am glad I don’t live some place like that. I can talk to anyone on Facebook or Twitter any time I want and say just about whatever I want too! And while I was blissfully doing that, my friends were having problems accessing Facebook in Vietnam.

I just knew I had to help them, especially since I could surf and look for an answer all I wanted even if they couldn’t. I just knew somehow my geek friends would have an answer and I hoped they wouldn’t let me down. Anyway, they owed me a favor, cause I helped one of them get a date with that cute girl in our Algebra class.

Sooo! Right now I am hoping my buddy is able to get online today, cause I got the word of how to do this thing called a virtual private network or VPN. It makes it look like you are logging in from someplace else so it can trick places into thinking your IP address is coming from the States or in a bunch of other countries depending on what you want it for. And it’s safe cause it hides all the tracking cookies too. Accessing Facebook in Vietnam is supposed to work great!

Anyway, as soon as I can get something to him, we will be back to being friends Facebook for sure. I just hope that somehow the people out there in his country quit blocking stuff like Facebook or Twitter. I mean, how can playing Farmville or chatting with your friends hurt the government? I just know it has to be some stupid mistake and they will figure it out.

So, accessing Facebook in Vietnam is easy if you use a VPN. You can even do it on a variety of phones and computers. If you've got an iPhone or iPad, you can use a PPTP or L2TP VPN them. The SSL VPN can be used to access Facebook in Vietnam on Mac, Windows, or Linux.
