1. Stanford University researched the impact of Making Music has on the brain. The results showed that making music improves how the brain processes the spoken word. This leads to an improvement of reading ability and helps with other reading problems.

2. Drexel university researched the impact of listening to music and working with a music therapist. The results showed that listening to your favourite music dramatically reduces anxiety in cancer patients.

3. The University of Hong Kong case study revealed that making music increases the verbal memory. This means that you could remember words off a list better and therefore you could achieve better written test results.

4. The university of Maryland case study revealed a direct link between listening to joyful music and having a healthy heart. Listening to your favourite music dilates the blood vessels inner lining by 26% which increases the blood flow through your blood vessels.

5. The University of Utah Pain case study revealed that Making Music is a distraction for anxiety prone people and helps you feel less pain. The study showed that people listening to music had less arousal pain when shocked with non dangerous fingertip electrodes.

1. Making fast music gives our bodies a natural shot of adrenalin and can change your brainwaves making you more attentive, more alert and more observant. 3. During various war scenarios Loud and fast Music was played before a conflict to bring out the aggressive nature in the soldiers going into battle.

4. Tel Aviv University found that playing Mozart Music to pre-term babies helps them to relax and expend less energy. As a result the babies become far less agitated and this helps the babies to gain weight faster.

5. A controversial study in 1993 showed that college students improved their IQs by listening to Mozart Sonata for 10 minutes. When the study was reported many parents in the U.S. bought Mozart Cds to boost their childrens Brainpower.

As you can see the benefits of making dance music extend further than you might have thought. Who knew that making music has so many health benefits and that music can actually help us in so many ways.

For many of us the reason we make music is we are passionate about it, but it is good to know that we might be gaining more than we think :)
